Iona at Berrima. Gorgeous historic cottage.
We were delighted to host our first guests over the Easter break and are looking forward to many more visitors enjoying our cottage. As we are still in the early stages of hosting, we appreciate all feedback to make the cottage as comfortable as possible. Nestled in the Georgian village of Berrima, this historic 1883 cottage retains many original features and offers three large bedrooms (two queen and one single), a kitchen/dining room, bathroom, laundry, and a cosy living room with open fireplace. The outside space comprises off-street parking, a large leafy back garden filled with established trees (including a number of fruit trees) and an inviting front porch area to relax and enjoy the sun or utilise the provided BBQ. Provisions for a light breakfast are included in your tariff. Please note that pets are allowed subject to request and an extra cleaning fee may apply. Within easy walking distance of the cottage is the delightful main street of Berrima, with its array of cafes and interesting boutique shops, historic buildings, exceptional restaurants and Australia's oldest continuously licensed Inn. An even shorter walk in the opposite direction brings you to Berrima Reserve on the Wingecarribee River, where you can take a dip in the river in summer, enjoy a picnic, or stroll along its banks in either direction. Bendooley Estate and Berkelouw Book Barn are only a couple of minutes drive away and the towns of Bowral, Moss Vale and Mittagong are within easy reach. Many local wineries are there to explore as well as numerous quaint villages, including Exeter, Sutton Forest, Burradoo and Bundanoon. Guests have full access to the cottage and garden.
