This top floor 3-bedroom stylish duplex has superb views of the River Dão and is perfectly located in the historic city of Santa Comba Dão. There is a swimming pool right next door with its own restaurant. Comfortably sleeps 7 guests across 3 bedrooms with 2.5 bathrooms. Ideal for large groups, such as wedding parties and large families. Everything you need is located within walking distance: large outdoor and indoor swimming pool (100m walk), cafes, excellent restaurants, and supermarkets. You will be staying in a beautiful duplex apartment in the historical city of Santa Comba Dão. The duplex is located on the top floor of an apartment block, which can be accessed via an elevator or a staircase. There is plenty of parking directly outside the apartment block or you can use the underground garage. On the ground floor of the Duplex is the entrance way, a fully equipped kitchen, a toilet, and a large dining and lounge area. There are balconies off the kitchen and lounge area where you can sit and bask in the sunshine, and enjoy all meals of the day. Off the lounge balcony are amazing views of the River Dão and off the kitchen balcony are views of the city. The kitchen is fully fitted with washing machine and dishwasher for your convenience. There are also your basics of a coffee machine, toaster, and microwave. Take the staircase up and you will find three bedrooms and a family bathroom with bathtub and shower overtop. In the master bedroom, there is a very large King-sized bed, ensuite with bathtub and shower overtop, and two Juliet balconies with incredible views of the River Dão on one side and the city on the other. There is a large built-in wardrobe. In the second bedroom there is a King-sized bed with a Juliet balcony and a built-in wardrobe. In the third bedroom there are a set of bunk beds and a small 4ft double bed with a built-in wardrobe. This room is ideal for children. About Santa Comba Dão Santa Comba Dão is an historical city in the Viseu region of Central Portugal. It has a population size of 11,500 people so it feels more like a town. Within walking distance you will find the heart of the city that has a real cafe scene. A beautiful canal weaves its way through the city centre. There are plenty of restaurants and cafes to choose from. There are three large supermarkets (Lidl, Intermarche, and Pingo Doce), plenty of fuel stations, and ATM points. There is a weekly market every Wednesday, where you will find fruit and veg, clothes, souvenirs, trinkets, and much more. Indoor & Outdoor Swimming Pool One thing we love about the Duplex is that it is 100 metres from a very well maintained outdoor and indoor swimming pool. There is also a diving pool area. There is also a café and restaurant on site along with other amenities. To get to the swimming pool, leave the apartment block and turn right and after 1 minute of walking you will see the pool complex on the right. If you want to use the municipal pool next to the Duplex you will need to bring a towel and it is compulsory to wear a swimming cap. We do not provide beach towels, but you can purchase a beach towel for a few euros from the ‘Novo China’ shop on Rua Miguel Neves. Please do not use the bathroom towels at the swimming pool. Things to do There are plenty of things to do, it depends on what you like! Santa Comba Dão has its own train station, so you could take an old-style train to the old University city of Coimbra and spend the day there. You could rent a bicycle and cycle the EcoPista between Viseu and Santa Comba Dão. Alternatively, you could drive to the city of Viseu for shopping malls, cinemas, and more Portuguese culture. Aveiro is nearby with beaches and gondolas. It is known as the 'Venice of Portugal'. Portugal has thousands of river beaches. There is one just off the River Dão. We live a few miles away from Santa Comba Dão, so we will meet you upon arrival and show you around the apartment. We will be contactable throughout your whole stay. Parking There are two places you can park for free, either directly outside the block or in the underground garage under the apartment block. Outside the block is plenty of unallocated off road free parking. There is a lift to the second floor. There is Air Conditioning in Bedroom 1.
