Melba's Choc factory, Woodside Cheese Wrights & Charleston pub 10 min walk from your Cottage. Visit 'Cedars' - studio & home of painter-Hans Heysen located at Hahndorf. Enjoy the famous 'Amy Gillett' - bike or walking track. Only a 5 minute walk from your cottage. Our garden is a place of joy for us. Each season brings its own beauty. We are welcomed each day by the songs sung by our feather friends. This space is there for you to relax and enjoy. Cockatoo Cottage, was named after our two friendly local Cockatoo's named Charlotte and Charlie. We hope you leave with wonderful memories. The Cottage is totally separate and private from the main house. There are two entry points being the main front doors and side entrance. You are also welcomed to enjoy our garden space. Please note: Cockatoo Cottage is designed to cater only for two people. We do not do Wedding's or any events/parties! Please note: During these challenging times of COVID-19 that we are all facing, we wanted to ensure our guests feel comfortable whilst staying in Cockatoo Cottage. Therefore, we have completed the COVID-19 Awareness Training provided by the South Australian Government. Please see certificate attached in photos. We are available anytime if you require any assistance or information. We have two tiny dogs named Pilou and Jacques. Their breed is Bichon Frise - French dogs and are friendly. Charleston is close to Birdwood, Mt Crawford - a forest reserve offering lots of walking trails, Hahndorf and Barossa Valley. Visit the Big Rocking Horse & Toy Factory at Gumeracha & a must visit to the Vintage Car Museum at Birdwood. Next to some of the finest bakeries plus historic pubs within the Adelaide Hills. Go to Uralida and visit the local cafes and bakeries. The old Uralida pub and visit 'Lost in a Forest' a Wood Oven Wine Lounge, serving pizzas using all locally sourced produce. Close to some of the most well known wineries - offering wine and food at it's best such as: Barristers Block, Mt Lofty Ranges Vineyard, Golding Winery, Pike & Joyce Wines, Anderson Hill Cellar Door. If you like Vintage antiques visit - Grass Roots at Hahndorf so friendly and helpful, and Hunted Home & Vintage within the quaint township of Lobethal. Plus while you are there - a must visit to the famous 'Bierhaus' (Adelaide Hills Craft Brewing). Order a plate of their famous 'Buffalo Wings' OMG spicy wings with blue sauce and a craft beer just incredible. Take a 5 min drive to the famous Melbas Choc factory, including Woodside Cheese Wrights such an awesome selection! If you are travelling in Decemb (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) ), it's a must to visit the largest Christmas light display in the Southern Hemisphere at Lobethal. The bonus is Lobethal is only a 5 minute drive away. You will require your own vehicle to drive to the sights within the Adelaide Hills region. If you require transport please contact us to discuss options available. Cockatoo Cottage is only designed to cater purely for - a Getaway for only two people. It is not designed to be used for any weddings or other events! FIRE SEASON: It is important to be aware Wood heaters can not be used from - 1 December to 30 April! Therefore, this amenity is not available during this time. However, for your comfort there is a (heating and cooling), reverse cycle air-con for your use!
