Spacious design apartment with a fantastic view

The beautiful 100 m2 modern Scandinavian design apartment is located right on the piazza, on the second floor of a three floor town house from the 17th century. Fully renovated in 2013-16. The apartment contains two large bedrooms with double beds, a living room, two bathrooms, a kitchen and two terrasses facing south. The largest terrace has a dining space for 6-8 people and a beautiful view of the Tuscan hills and the old town of Montecatini Val di Cecina, dating back to 11th century. The apartment has modern eco-cement floors in combination with white marble and old, handmade brick floors. 300 year old brick ceilings (up to 3 m 90 cm high) creates a fantastic atmosphere. The kitchen is fully equipped with cooking facilities and there is a barbeque (coal) for outdoor use. The two large bedrooms (one with a private bathroom) have comfortable double beds and more than enough space for extra beds. There are two extra beds and a baby bed present. There is also a sofa bed (double bed) in the living room. You will have the whole apartment to yourselves. We spend as much time as possible in our private apartment on the third floor. During easter holidays, a week in June, most of July and some days in September you may find us there. We will provide you with a "user guide" for the flat, washing machine, dishwasher, tips on things to see, restaurants etcetera. During your stay you may always reach us by telephone or mail and we also have three local friends helping out if needed. Montecatini Val di Cecina is a small village with medieval origins located in the centre of the Tuscan region, situated very close to the antique Etruscan town of Volterra. The beaches are a 35 minute drive away and the most important cities of artistic interest are a one hour drive away (Siena, Pisa, Florenz, Lucca). Montecatini is a perfect place to relax, enjoy the beauty, make marvelous food and drink good wines. There are two restaurants on the piazza, Il Buglione (Stefania) and La Terrazza Sul Borgo (Licia). By the sea in Bibbona you find a very nice restaurant on the beach called Alta Duna (only open i the season from eastern - sept/oct) and La Pineta is a must for seafoodlovers. Another nice place to eat by the sea, and take a bath, is Il Delfino in La Gorrette/Cecina Mare. In Volterra, 10 min by car, you find a lot of restaurants and shops, but if you want to find something special, try going a bit further on the road to Siena, after a couple of km you turn right to Mazzola, and you will find a small taverne called trattoria Albani in this tiny little village, it´s a classic. La Locanda del Sole, in Querceto, a fantastic place not far from MC. In Tuscany you need a car. Montecatini Val di Cecina is central, but there is not a lot of public transport, there is a bus going from Cecina to Volterra, stopping in MC. Since the apartment is located in the middle of the village, on the piazza, there will be possible noice from children playing on the piazza, and people having a glass of wine. On the piazza you will find two restaurants, a bar, a bakery, pharmacy, a bank and post office.
