All modern comforts, plus bicycle path at 500 metres leading to you 100 kms of paths admist the villages and countryside of the Gironde, and even to to seaside if you're really fit! We have a couple of bikes we can let you use free of charge, otherwise there is a bike rental agency at Créon, on the bicycle path. For all stays of a week a welcome basket is provided with wine and local produce. We accept smokers if they are happy to smoke either on the covered terrace or outside. COOKING COURSE - For a minimum of 3 people and maximum of 8, DAILY cooking courses with an excellent local professional chef. Example of a typical day 9h30 (after your breakfast served in your appartment) head out to the local market to pick up supplies for the lunch and dinner meal. Tips on buying local produce. Coffee in the market square. 11h Return to the house to prepare the lunch meal, such as papillotes de veau, piperade basque, lasagne au salmon, followed by Tarte Tatin, Clafoutis etc. 12h30 to 14h - Lunch together at the family table eating your prepared meal. 14h - 16h - Private time, either sieste in your appartment, bike ride on the bicycle path, sauna or jacuzzi. 16h - 18h30 - Cooking course, to prepare the evening meal, such as Blanquette de veau, Magret de Canard - the list is endless, plus a dessert, macarons, cannelles Bordeaux. 19h -> Enjoy your meal either in your appartement or at the family table. If you are interested and less than 3 people in your group let me know as we may have others staying too interested at the same time to make up the minimum capacity requirement. ----------Breakfast details for stays less than a week----------------- There are 3 coffee machines, perculator, nespresso and italian style aluminum machine. In this way you can prepare your coffee and tea yourselves when you're ready, and I bring you each morning a croissant or a chocolatine freshly cooked plus bread for each person, the standard french breakfast, plus orange juice, butter and jams. If you prefer pain au raisin it is possible too. I usually bring the tray and leave it outside your front door around 8h00 or 8h30,and on sundays a bit later (I have to get to the bakery as my baker doesn't deliver sunday!) Let me know if you'll need it earlier than that. --------- Nearest Aeroport-------------------------------------------------------The closest aeroport is BOREAUX MERIGNAC. 45 kms Pick up from aeroport is half the price of a taxi, so usually around 20/25 euros depending on time of day and if I am available. Note too that BERGERAC aeroport, serviced by RYANAIR, JETCOST, TRANSAVIA and others can get you a cheap flight from many places around europe. 64kms. I can come and pick you up for half the price of a taxi, around 30 euros, again depending on the time and if I am available and either drop you at Libourne to rent a car or home to the appartment ----------Nearest TRAIN STATION ------------------------------------------- SAINT EMILION - 13 kms. Very small station with not much availability, but the advantage once you are there is that you can visit St Emilion, a must, very beautiful village, lots to see and do, lots of cafés and restaurants open at all hours. For a taxi service to this location, again, half the price of a taxi, 10 euros. LIBOURNE. 22 kms. Moderate availability, a big station. Again, taxi service available for 15 euros. BORDEAUX. 40 kms. Very large station. Taxi service available for 20 euros. *** Always check with me beforehand if you're interested in my taxi service, if I'm ever in the area anyway, I just ask you to pay a petrol charge. ------------ BUSES------------------------------------------------------------------ There are two lines that leave from Bordeaux, one that arrives in TARGON and one that arrives in BRANNE. About a 45 minute trip, and I can come and pick you up from the village, both around 7 kms away. If you are coming without a car (possible as there is a small shop walking distance away and we have bikes for outings) I am happy to drive you to the local supermarket when I'm going for no charge. ** For larger groups I have a 7 seater car that you can hire on a daily or half daily basis. ** Ask me about the caves, underneath our village, I can take you on a tour if you like.... ** Meal of the Day can be arranged, either served in your appartment or at the family table, roast 2kg grain fed chicken with fresh vegetables and the best home made french fries in the area, cheese platter, coffee and freshly baked biscuits, plus all the wine you can drink... - all produce from within a 5 km radius and fresh on the day. Just one example daily meal. We need to know 24 hours in advance. From 15 to 20 euros all inclusive per person including wine, depending on the meal provided. ** For the history and archeaology lovers, a very old region, the local church is 10th century but much older than that, roman gold coins have been found on our grounds, and just metres away in Romagne, a farmer ploughing his land for planting vineyards came across the roof of an old building, when the archeological society came to investigate (a legal obligatgion) they excavated a roman ruin. When they were finished the farmer filled it back up again to plant his vines - wine is sacred....! Our neiqhbour has a well that half way down has a tunnel that leads somewhere - yet to be investigated... Previous guests are certain of having found markings of the cathar knights on a rocky road up to the main village from us. To be investigated....... Late Check in Reduction!! For stays of 3 nights or more, think about our late check in fee, when available. In this way if you arrive late, from 9pm onwards I only charge 2/3 of the regular rate so you are aren't penalised for missing out on half of the stay - I always thought hotels should do this when you arrive late only use the services for half of the time!! PETS!!! Note that we have a dog and 3 cats. The dog, Doggy is in our part of the garden and can't leave, very strict regulations about dogs being enclosed here, so for those of you scared of dogs he can't get out (but actually loves being with people unfortunately for him!) We have 3 cats, ours that lives with the dog, and two other adopted cats found on the road and bottle fed so extremely affectionate, but not intrusive as well... Access to JACUZZI, sauna (winter only), POOL and terrasse around the pool. There are 4 tables at the pool, that can seat 12 people maximum, or the tables can be seperated for smaller groups. There are also 12 deck chairs. I am present on the property, available when you need me, but as discreet as possible! I love to interact with my guests when that is what they are looking for, but if they prefer more privacy that is fine for me, don't like to intrude... Surrounded by the Entre Deux Mer vineyards. Our village is one of the oldest in the region, only 12 houses and relics from the 10 th century.... Closest bus BRANNE , the 402 or 403, 8kms.
