This charming three bedroom cottage is located right in the centre of the picturesque coastal village of Muchalls, in Aberdeenshire . Dating from the 1850s, the property combines beautiful period features with modern design and facilities. The heart of the cottage is a fantastic entertaining space, comprising open plan dining and lounge complete with wood burner. Comfortably sleeping up to 6 guests, the cottage is perfectly situated close to Scotland's best walks, mountains and coastline. The cottage is a family home decorated and furnished with love and bearing quirky design features and a stunning granite feature wall. The upstairs comprises of three bedrooms and a cloakroom with toilet and basin. Downstairs is the main entertaining space, a fully equipped kitchen and the main shower room. Additional features include a porch come boot room to the front and a charming courtyard garden to the rear. Owners Kate and Stig own and manage an eco-campsite in nearby Angus where they live during the summer. The cottage is their main residence in winter hence you will see evidence of their possessions during your stay. They are easily contactable to deal with any questions or queries and will happily recommend places to visit or eat. The village of Muchalls has a welcoming, friendly vibe. Lovely clifftop walks perfect for dog owners, are accessible from the doorstep. The fantastic and ever popular Stack Restaurant serves up gourmet evening meals and fine wines just a two minute walk from the cottage. The bar area is dog friendly. The surrounding is famed for its natural beauty, coastal and mountain walks and the stunning attractions of Historic Royal Deeside. The vibrant city of Aberdeen affords excellent shopping and eating outlets. Further afield 'Britain's coolest city' (according to GQ magazine), Dundee is just an hours drive away. Muchalls is located 12 miles South of Aberdeen, approximately 20 mins drive from the City Centre and 25 mins drive from the airport. An hourly bus service takes you South to the charming town of Stonehaven with its stunning beach, Dunnottar forest, ancient Dunnottar Castle and many bars and eateries. From here there are onward connections by train to Aberdeen and Dundee. Our lovely neighbour drives a taxi and is on hand to help if you don't fancy driving or taking the bus.
