Quiet Country Guesthouse, Relax & Recharge

Ventura County Casual, comfortable, country living in a spacious 900 sq. foot guesthouse. located in a commercial avocado grove near a goat farm. Serene and peaceful yet surrounded by typical farm noises such as roosters, chickens, goats, and turkeys. Private entrance leading to the guesthouse on the 2nd floor, separate from the family farmhouse. Lighted path to front door at night. Ceiling fans and a portable fan helps to keep you comfortable during warmer months. Parking on site. Staircase (see photos) at private entrance leads to guesthouse on 2nd floor. Comfortable Queen size bed. Full kitchen with microwave, toaster, coffee maker, dishwasher and refrigerator for your convenience. Coffee & tea provided to get you started. Sometimes fresh fruit from the grove available in the spring season. Outdoor space with chairs and picnic table located right outside the front door in semi private patio. Sorry there is no barbecue available. Hosts might be at home while guesthouse is in use, available to answer questions that may come up, just send a text. We try to stay out of our guests way. If host is gone there is a family member willing to step in and take care of your needs. Be sure to look at our Guide book on this site. At the southern end of Ventura County, Somis is a small agricultural town with a population of only 3,000. Yet only 60 min. away from L.A. and 40 min. away from Santa Monica and Santa Barbara. Camarillo and the outlet mall is an easy 15 min. drive from Somis. My neighborhood is surrounded by other citrus and avocado groves. During harvest there might be working machinery noise during the day but that is limited. Most of the time there is a peaceful atmosphere which will help you unwind while you listen to the various sounds of a typical farm. The neighbor's rooster helps you know what time to get up. The 101 freeway and Hwy 118 are within just a few miles from this guest house. The train station is 15 min. away and can take you North or South in comfort and ease. There are car services such as Lyft and Uber available. It's a good idea to have a vehicle so that you can easily get around town. No public bus service is available in this area. Parking spaces located in front of garden area of guesthouse. Park in front of pink pig sign. Extra $200 fee charged for late checkouts without prior arrangements made with host.
