Little River Cottage is a quaint high set 3 bedroom cottage on the Tweed River in the historic village of Tumbulgum. The perfect riverside retreat for escaping and relaxing whilst only being minutes away from beaches, boutique stores, world class restaurants, galleries and markets. Family and dog friendly. Luxe linen, beautiful eco shower products, wifi and Netflix/Stan/Prime. **PLEASE NOTE: We do not accept schoolies, bucks/hens parties The cottage is nestled on the banks of the Tweed River and is only a short stroll from charming village of Tumbulgum. The Little River Cottage is decorated with curiosities from around the world. We provide all guests with luxury linen, eco bath products and organic tea and coffee. The cottage is high set with rear entry via a staircase. It has 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, two verandas, an outdoor hot shower, spacious fully enclosed yard, 2 double kayaks, BBQ, aircon in the living room, fully equipped kitchen, unlimited NBN wifi, netflix, DVD library and undercover parking for your car and boat. Tumbulgum village has beautiful views of the Tweed River and Mt Warning/Wollumbin. The village is popular with water skiers, fisherman and boaties and has a public wharf and boat ramp. The Mt Warning River Cruise also departs from the village. Take advantage of the ample picnic and BBQ spots along the banks of the river. Stroll along the heritage shop fronts, visit the local gallery, stop into one of the cafes for coffee or brunch or visit the Tumbulgum Tavern. Only 20 minutes from the Gold Coast Airport, 15 minutes to beautiful beaches and 35 minutes to Byron Bay. We are happy to greet you upon arrival or offer self check in details. We enjoy providing our guests with local tips on cafes, restaurants, activities, markets, galleries, fashion designers and tours. Having a car is desirable, however, the local Surfside bus runs from 7.30am - 5.30am (every hour) to Murwillumbah, Coolangatta/Tweed Heads. 🏖 If you have IG, you can follow us @temple_retreats_byron for photos of all of our charming abodes as well as our local tips for the bay and beyond. ARRIVAL & DEPARTURE Check In is from 3.00pm and Check Out is 10.00am. Early arrival, late departure and luggage storage may be possible by prior arrangement only. This is not always possible so please contact us in advance. On departure please check you have all of your belongings. A minimum charge of $30 will be incurred to have any items returned to you. BARBECUE You are welcome to use the BBQ on the deck. For the comfort of all guests please let us know if the gas is getting low. The BBQ must be cleaned after each use and the gas bottle closed off. BBQ utensils can be found in the kitchen. A minimum charge of $50 will be incurred if the BBQ is not cleaned. CANDLES You are welcome to use candles however never leave a candle unattended and always extinguish completely when not in use. CLEANING The property must be left the way it was found, however please place all used towels on the floor of the bathroom, and ensure all dishes are washed, dried and put away. Please be mindful when using fake tan and make up as any excess on linen, lounges or other furniture will incur a fee. Fees will be charged for any excess cleaning above normal use, and will be taken from the bond. DAMAGES & BREAKAGES You must inform us of any damage or breakages during your stay. All damage and breakages must be paid for. Please contact us for any maintenance issues arising during your stay. FRIDGE & FREEZER Please discard any unused food items from the fridge prior to your departure. GARBAGE & RECYCLING The Tweed Shire Council operates a three bin service; a weekly GREEN organic waste service, a fortnightly YELLOW recycling service, and a fortnightly RED landfill service. Please refer to the leaflet on the fridge for information on which bin to use. All rubbish must be put in the correct outside bin before departure. Bins are located under the front deck. A fee per bin will apply to contaminated bins. INTERNET Wifi is provided for using email, instant messaging, internet browsing and using apps. Illegal or dishonest use will result in immediate eviction, complete loss of Bond and will be reported to the authorities. Internet speeds may be affected during peak times and holiday season. Wifi details are on the fridge. KEYS You must inform us immediately if you lose a key. A replacement fee may be incurred and will be taken from the bond. On departure please secure the property and leave the key in the lock box. LIGHTS, FANS, AIR CON & APPLIANCES Please turn off all lights, fans, air conditioning and appliances when not in use or when leaving the property. LINEN Bed linen, bath linen, tea towels and beach towels are all supplied. NETFLIX Netflix is logged in and available for your use. Please use the Guest account. NOISE & PARTIES The property has a strict noise curfew between 10.00pm and 8.00am. Parties and excessive noise are absolutely forbidden, and may result in complete loss of Bond and/or immediate eviction. Please also be mindful of the neighbours and your hosts in the main house when entering or exiting the property and minimise noise, especially late at night. PARKING When you open the garage doors please ensure you hook them back so the wind doesn't blow them closed onto your car. The garage door on the right is the largest parking area. PORTABLE COT & HIGHCHAIR HIRE Portable cot and highchair are available with prior request. We ask guests to provide own cot linen/blankets. There is a $25 (plus air bnb fees) one-off fee for use of the cot and/or high-chair. PESTS In our tropical climate you may notice more cockroaches, flies and ants than you might be used to. This property undergoes regular pest control treatment, however if you find any unwelcome visitors we have provided a can of spray under the kitchen sink.  PETS Little River Cottage is pet friendly with prior consent. Please let us know if you’re traveling with your pet. Please provide its age and breed. We accept well behaved dogs, however, we do need to make sure they're suitable for the property before accepting your reservation. We ask that pets do not go on the beds or furniture and that all poo is picked up on departure. If these rules aren’t followed or there is an excess of pet hair or sand, there will be a $100 pet cleaning fee applied to your bond. In the Byron Shire it is your responsibility to collect your animal droppings and dispose of them in landfill bins. Please dispose of these directly in the outdoor landfill bins and not inside the property. Please remove sand from your pets prior to entering the property. SAND Please remove all sand before entering the property. Sand is easily concealed in towels, clothing and on the bottom of beach bags. Please use the outdoor shower or tap to rinse off. Any drain blockages caused by sand within the house may incur a fee and will be taken from your Bond. Excess cleaning resulting from sand will incur a fee and may be taken from your Bond. SECURITY Whenever you are absent from the property please close and lock all windows and doors to maintain security and prevent rain and water damage. SMOKING Smoking is restricted to outdoor areas only. Ashtrays must be emptied and cleaned on departure. Any damage resulting from smoking will incur a fee and be taken from your Bond. VISITORS & GUESTS No additional guests or visitors are permitted on the property. Extra visitors or guests may result in complete loss of Bond and/or immediate eviction. WATER SAFETY You are welcome to use the kayaks under the house. Please ensure life jackets are worn at all times. By using this watercraft you accept responsibility for your safety and that of anyone else in the vessel. Any damage or loss to the equipment may incur a fee and will be taken from your Bond.
