Terrific summer house by the lake
Lovely small summer camp across the street from, and with access to, beautiful Lake Champlain. Sunny front deck, backyard picnic table, fire pit and bbq, and lots of chairs for lounging around. PLEASE NOTE: WE HAVE NO ROOM TO PARK A BOAT. 3 minutes from the Grand Isle/Cumberland Head ferry dock, 5 minutes from Plattsburgh, close to Rt. 87 and points north and south. A great spot to relax and enjoy the glorious summers and colorful falls. Cappy is a charming older 2-bedroom summer camp across the street from the lake front. The front deck gets all day sun and is the perfect spot to recline on a chaise lounge, sip some wine and watch the sun go down. The wood paneled screened-in porch has a glider, plenty of rocking chairs, and a table just waiting for a game of gin rummy. PLEASE NOTE: THIS IS NO ROOM TO PARK A BOAT. Pets are allowed, but they may not be left unattended. IF YOUR PET IS NOT WITH YOU, IT MUST BE IN A CRATE. Cappy will fit four comfortably: one bedroom has a double bed; the other two twins. The couch does not pull out, but is long enough to double as a bed for one person if need be. There is one bathroom with a shower. The kitchen has an electric stove and microwave, toaster, 4-cup coffee maker, and tea kettle. There are hardwood floors throughout. There is Wi-fi, but no cable. The TV will play DVDs and VHS (we've got some classics!); you can play any number of board games or try your hand at some jigsaw puzzles. There's a large back yard with an outdoor gas grill, picnic table and fire pit. You'll have rocky beach access to the lake for swimming or sunbathing. We've got beach chairs; we highly suggest you bring watershoes. If you're craving something sandy, there are three lovely beaches 5 - 30 minutes away. Kayaks and canoes can be rented at several places within 20 minutes of the house. $50/per visit cleaning fee linens and towels provided Cappy does not have its own beachfront, but guests will have rocky access to a lovely gravel beach that i share with my neighbors. As I live in San Francisco I won't be there, but I've got folks lined up to show you around and answer any questions you've got. The house will be all yours while you're there, but i'll be there in spirit! We are located on a quiet dead-end street. There are a few other summer residences around, but most of the folks live there year-round. People are friendly but it's important to remember that this is their neighborhood and to respect their privacy. Cappy is about 3 miles from the Cumberland Head ferry dock, about 5 minutes from Plattsburgh, and just minutes from Rt. 87. Montreal is an hour north, and Lake Placid an hour west. Burlington airport (flights from NYC) is about 40 minutes away. There are direct flights from Boston into Plattsburgh airport. If you are an avid bicyclist with saddlebags on your bike you can probably get away with having no car--everyone else will need a car. Please remember that i am on west coast time, which is 3 hours earlier than east coast time. So if you are taking care of business bright and early in your day, i will not see those messages right away. On the other hand, if you're emailing me late at night, i may.
