Canbyfield Loft Apartment

The Loft at Canbyfield, is a newly converted, self-contained, first-floor studio apartment and is located on an arable and livestock farm between the villages of Seagrave and Sileby. It enjoys a tranquil, rural setting where guests can enjoy watching and listening to a variety of wildlife and farming activities. We are well-placed for access to Leicester, Loughborough, Melton Mowbray and Nottingham. At Canbyfield, we pride ourselves on providing a warm welcome and enjoyable stay for guests. The studio has is own private entrance which is accessed via a flight of nine, metal steps. The apartment is open plan with two rooms, a kitchen/ lounge/ with bedroom area and a separate shower room with utility and storage. Being a loft conversion it has restricted height access under the eaves, see photos. The kitchen is fully equipped with a good selection of kitchen utensils, crockery, cutlery and pots and pans. There is a microwave, toaster, kettle, induction hob, electric oven and grill, dishwasher, washing machine/dryer, fridge and freezer. Everyday cleaning products are also supplied. A selection of teas, coffee and milk are provided for your stay. The dining area has a vintage Ercol breakfast table and two matching wooden chairs which can be used as a work station. The lounge has two Ercol armchairs, (which are very comfortable), a coffee table, 40 inch, flat screen, smart tv and a freestanding reading light. Free wi-fi is available throughout the accommodation. The area is well lit with led spotlights and velux roof lights. The bedroom area has a king size bed (with a Sealy wool mattress), wool duvet, feather pillows and luxurious 800 thread cotton bed-linen. Two bedside tables each with a touch lamp, a DAB radio and alarm clock are also provided. Hanging space is available in the wardrobe, there are plenty of clothes hangers and additional storage space is provided in the chest of drawers. A hair dryer, task mirror and a wooden cow-horn chair are also provided. All velux windows have fitted blinds with blackout linings in the bedroom and lounge areas so as to provide a comfortably dark, sleep environment. The shower room has a walk in shower cubicle, toilet, wash basin, illuminated vanity mirror, heated towel rail and hand and bath towels provided. Essentials such as loo roll and toilet cleaning products are provided along with a selection of complimentary toiletries. Additional storage space is located behind the shower cubicle along with a full length mirror, ironing board, iron and laundry basket. Outdoor space includes a private garden area adjacent to the loft access with a rotary washing line, seating, lawn area and private off road parking space. The Loft is self contained, guests can access the lawned garden area to the side of the barn and have a parking space in front of the access steps. We live next door to the Loft and are on hand for guests during their stay, either by popping across to the farmhouse or phoning us on our mobile. An information pack of local amenities and services is provided in the apartment along with details for the loft amenities and utilities . Our farm location makes for a unique experience where guests can really relax. We are on the doorstep of some great tourist attractions such as Great Central Railway, Bradgate Park, The National Space Centre, Rutland Water, Newark Civil War Centre, Stoneywell, Belton House, Calke Abbey, Southwell Workhouse and the attractions of Nottingham and Leicester sporting and cultural centres. We are located away from the main road, accessed by a stoned farm track. Sileby has a train station with hourly trains, Monday -Saturday serving the Leicester, Loughborough, Nottingham, Newark, Lincoln route. The nearest bus stop about a 20 minute walk away has a regular (40 minutes) service between the village and Loughborough and Leicester. We are a 30 minute drive from East Midlands Airport. Newark Northgate and the East Coast Mainline is a 30 minute drive away. Its an excellent accessible location. This is a working farm and agricultural activities will be going on around the barn. We are located about half a mile from the road and accessed by a stoned farm track.
