Lakeside Home

Our two storey four bedroom Lockwood home is perfect for families, large groups or sports teams. Close enough to Rotorua to enjoy the local attractions and events, yet far enough away to "get away from it all". A quiet spot with beautiful lake views while enjoying all day sun. Its position allows you to spend the day in Rotorua or beside the lake relaxing. We are in the process of returning our home to its former glory but it is comfortable and clean making it the perfect getaway. We want you to provide you with a home away from home. After a day exploring or playing you can return to the house and relax with a drink while you enjoy the views from the deck, yard or conservatory. Alternatively you can rest in one of the lounges with a good book or some TV. The home sits on the edge of Lake Rotoiti with a 15 minute drive to Rotorua. It is perfect for 2 or 3 small family groups, larger families or teams. Rotorua has something on offer for everyone from adrenalin junkies to families to those wanting to wind down and take a break. Experience Rotorua's thermal wonders, cultural delights, gorgeous lakes, mountain bike and walking tracks, trout fishing and many parks which are all a short drive away. Okere Falls (famous for its white water rafting) is 5 minutes in the other direction or you can continue on for another 30 minutes to the nearby beaches of Maketu or Pukehina or take in a spot of shopping at Papamoa or the Mount. The home boasts a new open plan kitchen, dining room and conservatory allowing you to enjoy the views of the lake. Off the dining room is a large lounge where you can hang out without the distractions of a TV. It has a sliding door onto the deck to let the air in during summer and a kent fire to keep you warm during winter. Also off the dining room is a TV lounge so you can keep up with your favorite free-to-air program. The main bedroom with a queen bed is downstairs. It has an ensuite (new shower, toilet and vanity) and its own deck. You will enter the house into the laundry area which houses a washing machine and dryer, linen cupboard and guest toilet and vanity. The remaining three bedrooms along with a TV lounge and shared bathroom (new bath, shower over bath, toilet and vanity) are upstairs. Cook indoors or outdoors using the fully equipped kitchen or gas BBQ. A hammock and outdoor furniture are stored in the garage. Guest have use of the whole property. One door is locked on the property which is a cupboard under the stairs where the cleaning equipment is stored. There is no public transport but plenty of parking. A folder of nearby attractions, eateries and activities is available for you to peruse. Access is via lock box but I am available via phone for any enquiries or issues There is no public transport to our home thus a private vehicle is recommended. A taxi from town to our home would cost approximately $60 - $80. The house is smoke free but you are welcome to smoke outside. Ashtrays are provided. The property is fitted with smoke alarms and fire extinguisher. Our home is newly carpeted so we do ask that you remove your shoes and leave them in the laundry area. The showers run off the hot water cylinder so the pressure is not strong. The water is pumped into the house from a fresh water spring (best tasting water in town) so if there is a power cut (incredibly rare) there will be no water either. You are welcome to bring your boat but we do not have a jetty to moor it to.
