The main house of La Maison des Grands Arbres is a traditionally thatched Norman Farmhouse with 8 bedrooms set in a beautiful garden of 10 acres which also includes a swimming pool. The property backs directly onto the National Foret de Brotonne. The separate old bakery has been renovated to include an additional two bedrooms and bathroom. The garden provides ample space for family fun as well as quiet spots for relaxation. There is a covered outdoor dining area for evening summer meals. This is a perfect holiday property for large family groups, with space for everyone, many quiet corners, indoors and out and comprehensive amenities for people of all ages. The location is ideally situated for day trips to Rouen, Honfleur, the Normandy beaches and for local walks in the Foret de Brotonne and along the Seine. The house is accessed down a long cherry tree lined drive, giving it a peaceful holiday setting. There is space to relax and absorb the peace and calm, whilst there are many local attractions within easy reach e.g. Goat farm selling fresh cheese and local farm produce. A Cider and Calvados producing fruit farm. A beautiful Monastery, where the Monks following a vow of silence, produce honey, soaps and beer. By Car: 1½hrs from Paris, 2 1/2 hrs from Calais. From London, we usually take the Eurotunnel from Folkestone to Calais, the crossing is 40 mins. By Train: 1½ hrs from Paris St Lazare station. Our local station is Yvetot and is a 20 minute drive from the house. By Ferry: The closest port Le Havre is 40 mins by car from the house. Dieppe and Calais are also accessible. By Plane: Charles de Gaulle airport is 181km/112miles away. Local taxi services are available. Local Hertz car rental in Caudebec 4km/2½miles from our house. The house holds years of family history and has a huge amount of traditional character whilst still providing all modern appliances. There are two sitting rooms and a TV room allowing space for families groups to relax or for individual private moments. There are many board games and jigsaws available. The small library overlooking the large living room has a chess table setup for enthusiasts.
