Willow - Little Ash Luxury 4 Person Shepherd's Hut
New in 2021 - Luxury Glamping on a working farm in a picturesque village in South Devon. Willow is a rare 4-person shepherd's hut, full of character, designed and hand-built by us. This hut is perfect for families and friends. The hut is nestled in a sunny field surrounded by old oak trees, providing the perfect place to relax. The farm is a stone's throw from the wild beauty of Dartmoor National Park and a short drive from the stunning South Devon Coast and its charming towns and villages. The Site Willow is one of three shepherd’s huts dotted around our 1-acre field, check out our site map in the photos. Each hut has its own private space, including an outdoor dining area, and a firepit/bbq. Inside In the main living space you’ll find a comfortable seating area and dining table, a hand-crafted kitchen complete with Belfast sink, integrated fridge, double induction hob and cooking essentials to make a tasty meal whilst you’re away. There is a fixed double bed at one end of the hut and bunk beds at the other. Underfloor heating will keep your feet warm during those colder days. You’ll have your own ensuite bathroom with toilet, heated towel radiator, towels and toiletries. There is no shower inside the hut - for showering there is a bathroom shepherd hut adjacent to your hut with two large showers and also two extra toilets in. The hut also has its own WIFI to help you stay connected. Outside Looking out across the valley you’ll find your own private outdoor space where you can sit and enjoy what is a beautiful, sunny field for most of the day. As the evening draws in you can cosy up around your firepit or cook al fresco as the firepit also doubles up as a barbecue. It is an easy 50m walk along a flat gravel path from the car parking area to your hut. You’ll be surrounded by nature during your stay. The farm is home to livestock, cows and sheep as well as three pygmy goats and two rheas which are recent additions to the farming family. Sitting outside in the evening you’ll often hear the owls and see the horseshoe bats flying around. During the day you’re likely to see lots of birds, including birds of prey and if you’re an early riser you might spot the deer wandering around the field. Other things to note You will find some complimentary breakfast items in your hut when you arrive (eggs, fresh bread, milk, juice, condiments, tea and coffee). You’ll be staying on a working farm, so please be respectful of the animals and be aware there will be tractors and other machinery operating at times. We kindly request that you do not wander around different fields on the farm, there are lots of public footpaths for exploring the local area. I live 20 minutes away from the farm, however I would be glad to answer any questions you might have. You are likely to meet Helen, the farmer, during your stay, she and her husband live on the farm. Helen is there to help you if you need anything. The farm is on the edge of a picturesque village in the heart of the Teign Valley in South Devon. We are a stone's throw from the wild beauty of Dartmoor National Park and a short drive from the stunning South Devon Coast and its charming towns and villages. The village of Trusham is just a 5 minute walk from the huts. There is a pub in the village called The Cridford Inn, thought to be one of Britain’s oldest inns, this charming pub serves a range of local beers, gins and superb meals. Haldon Forest Park, set in 3500 acres of woodland, with miles of trails for walkers, runners, cyclists and horse riders is just a 5 minute drive or 15/20 minute cycle from the farm. There is no shop in the village, however the nearest town with amenities is only a 10 minute drive away. There are a selection of large supermarkets within a 20 minute drive. There is no public transport in and out of the village. The nearest train stations are Exeter St Davids and Newton Abbot, both about a 25 minute drive. Although getting a taxi to and from the village is possible, we are in a remote location so can't be readily relied upon. We recommended that you use your own transport, it is the easiest way of getting to us and exploring the area while you are here. We have a parking area on the farm that is an easy walk to the hut.
