Cosy Camper Van Vacay We called our camper van Cyanocitta, meaning Blue Bird, she's electric Blue and gives you the freedom of a bird, well almost ! She's beautiful, easy and comfortable to drive, with full leather seats and an automatic gearbox, cupholders for those essential service station coffees and deep pockets in the doors for storing bottles of water. There's bluetooth and satellite navigation, because men REALLY can't read maps ! And USB to charge your phone. To pre book a site, or "wild camp"? That's always the question. If you want to pre book somewhere with electric hookup and a loo we highly recommend a caravan and camping club membership which is around £50 for the year, and you get a free monthly magazine and a voucher for a free nights stay on one of their sites! If you are feeling more adventurous and choose to wild camp, there are apps like "Park4night" which have recommendations of wild spots. One of Emma's favourites is a layby between Arnside and Silverdale just over the Cumbria border into Lancashire with a view of Morecambe Bay, less busy than the Lakes. Warton Crag nature reserve and The Old Brewery tearoom are recommended here! Previous guests have booked a site through airbnb at Croglin in the Eden Valley hosted by Caroline and Anthony and others have toured on the NC 500 around Northern Scotland. Cyanocitta is equipped with a rock and roll bed and we provide a memory foam mattress topper for comfort ( bring your own bedding) Theres a sink with running water, a double gas hob, a small fridge and plenty of storage. The pop top roof provides either extra storage space or extra sleeping space for the kids. We provide pots and pans and basic utensils for cooking and eating, two camping chairs and a camping table and a gas camping stove. Solar panels are installed on the roof to provide extra power in the summer. Sadly there is no toilet or shower, but hey this is camping. Cornflour is a great dry shampoo ! If you really can't manage without , book a site with these facilities. The van has heating for winter months, so you don't need to worry about the cold. Oh and insurance and breakdown cover is provided. She's our pride and joy so in order for us to allow you to take her for a few days, there are a few things we ask of you, these are requirements of the insurance and so if you don't provide them we won't let her go ! You'll need to send us a photo of your FULL UK DL front AND back with NO motoring convictions. You must be aged 21 or over to drive her. Copies of 2 x bank/council tax/utility/landline statements dated within the last 3 months as proof of address. These must be statements connected to your property matching the address on your DL. We also require a £500 refundable holding deposit payable through the resolution centre. This is refunded on return subject to checks. We reserve the right to deduct costs from this deposit should you be late without notifying us, or upon finding any loss or damages that was not recorded prior to hire. You may leave your car parked free of charge at our home, we are down a farm track away from the road hidden from view and have plenty of private secluded parking. We have a security camera for your peace of mind. In order to hire our campervan you will need to confirm and provide the following for insurance. That you are 21 or over with no convictions and hold a full UK licence. Copies of 2 x utility bills as proof of address along with copies of your DL front and back. A 500 holding deposit refundable at the end of the trip when the van is returned on time and checked for damage
