Studio “Säntis” in historic farmhouse

The studio “Säntis” is located in the listed Oberhaus on lake Zurich. Since 2021, the elegant wine-grower’s house from 1743 houses a bed & breakfast. The studio is located on the first floor on the north-east side of the building and consists of two rooms, a bathroom and a toilet. It is suitable for a maximum of 4 adults. Shared use of the sauna and private access to the lake are included, breakfast can be booked. Parking is included, the train station is 5 min. away from the accommodation. The studio is located on the first floor on the north-east side of the historic Oberhaus with a view over the court towards lake Zurich. It consists of two rooms, a bathroom and a toilet. In the front room, there are two single beds, which can also be used as sofas, and a table with two chairs. In the back room, there is a double bed with separate frames and mattresses and double bedding, as well as another table with two chairs. The studio is suitable for a maximum of 4 adults. The bathroom and the toilet were built in the thirties and carefully refurbished in 2021. Bed linen, bathroom and kitchen towels are included, as well as sauna textiles. Breakfast can be booked. In summer, it is served in the garden seating area or the wash house. Our guests may share the hosts’ sauna (with prior notice) and their private access to the lake. The access to the lake is a terrace by the boat house with a permanently installed swimming ladder. The entrance is not suitable for non-swimmers or children and adults who are inexperienced swimmers. To those, we recommend the public baths of Feldbach, which are a 10 min. walk away. Parking spaces at the accommodation are available. In addition to their private rooms, our guests have access to a number of recreation areas, for example the loggia balcony facing south on the first floor of the Oberhaus with a phantastic view. In the garden, you will find other recreation areas. In particular, there is the covered seating area, which serves as a breakfast room during the warm season of the year. In winter, breakfast is served in the washhouse. This also serves as a lounge with a library, has a gravelled forecourt with a view and a kitchen that can be used by the guests. The studio is part of the B&B Oberhaushof, which is located on the two lower floors of the Oberhaus. You reach the Bed & Breakfast via the garden and an outdoor staircase. The hosts live on the property, but only the guests of the Bed & Breakfast stay at the Oberhaus. We are happy to welcome you in person if possible and are also available to answer any questions you may have. On the Oberhaushof farm itself, there is an organic grain cultivation business (Getreidezüchtung Peter Kunz) which uses the farm’s land. In the “Trotte” building, there are five rental apartments, and the Oberhaus houses the “Lebensspuren” (traces of life) of the farm (see lebensspu (Website hidden by Airbnb) next to the Bed & Breakfast. Around Feldbach, you will find wonderful walking, hiking and cycling routes, e.g. the “Alte Landstrasse” which leads west from Feldbach train station to Ürikon with great panoramic views and is part of the cycling route 66 to Zurich. The public baths of Feldbach (which also rent out pedalos) are a 10 min. walk away in a beautiful spot. They serve delicious fish dishes. You can reach us very easily with public transport. Every 30 min., there is a S7 train to Zurich (30 min. ride on a scenic route along lake Zurich) and another one to Rapperswil (10 min. ride). The train station is 5 min. away from the accommodation. Every 30 min., a bus leaves for Hombrechtikon. Parking spaced at the accomodation are available. Zurich with its old town and long lakeside promenades, shopping opportunities and cultural attractions needs no further introduction. Rapperswil offers an exceptionally beautiful old town, and a relaxed harbour area filled with bars, cafés and restaurants and a wide range of shopping opportunities. Besides, it has a majestic castle complex, on which you have a fantastic view from the Oberhaushof farm. With children, a trip to Knie’s children’s zoo in Rapperswil is a must. In the wider surroundings of Feldbach, you can visit islands (Ufenau, Lützelau), hills and mountains (Bachtel, Etzel and a little further away also Säntis and Rigi), museums (countless) and enjoy an adventure in a water park (Alpamare in Pfäffikon SZ on the other side of the lake), on a steam train (DVZO), in rope parks, on a boat trip (e.g. on a steam ship), and much more. The studio is equipped with a Beanarella capsule machine (with compostable capsules) and a kettle. We are happy to offer you a buffet breakfast in the beautiful breakfast room in the garden of the B&B Oberhaushof. This costs CHF 14 per person. Children up to 12 years are free of charge together with adult guests. We offer this from 08:00 to 10:00 - other times on request. If you are interested, just approach the hosts! In winter breakfast is served in the old washhouse. The studio in the listed Oberhaus is suitable for adults and families with children from the age of 6. Families staying in the "Säntis" studio can play a puzzle game to find a secret treasure in the Oberhaus. Just ask Maja or Stefan to get the first clue. Only at the "Säntis" studio!
