From stunning beaches and mountain wilderness to 174 kms of stunning lake foreshore, there is so much to enjoy and explore. Lake Macquarie offers a slower pace of life and is the perfect place for either a relaxing retreat or active experience, all seasons. Our newly renovated Lazy Haven Lakehouse is perfect for couples and families alike. Enjoy soaking in a deep bath, eating breakfast on the back deck and enjoying the natural surrounds. Floor-to-ceiling cathedral-style windows look out to the backyard and swimming pool. The bedroom configuration is as follows: the master bedroom contains a king bed with en suite; the second bedroom has a double bed, and the upstairs loft has one queen bed and one single bed with trundle available. There are fans in the bedrooms, lounge room and dining room/kitchen. There are beautiful hardwood brushbox floor boards in bedrooms, kitchen and dining area. The lounge area is carpeted. Enjoy board games; piano; 55 inch TV, netflix and wifi. Also supplied in the kitchen are herbs and spices, coffee, tea and general supplies, along with other kitchen staples. You are welcome to help yourself to all these things. Are you ready to explore beyond the house? Situated only a short distance from Lake Macquarie, the house is also ideal as a base for sailing, kayaking, paddle boarding, fishing, waterskiing or yachting. Grab a jacket and a thermos and walk to the jetty at Sunshine Baths to watch the sun rise over the lake. There are also many short walks around the area to enjoy with lovely scenic lake views. Pack a picnic and head to Sunshine Park, just past the sailing club. A beautiful park for those warm days. Good play equipment for children. Within an hour’s drive, you can explore the wineries and restaurants of the Hunter Valley, beautiful, sandy beaches along the coast, the hub of Newcastle, and the pristine beauty of the Watagans National Park - perfect for nature lovers. Enjoy the cool of the swimming pool on a hot summer’s day. Watch a movie as you relax before bed or read a book from the bookshelves. Wake up to the sounds of kookaburras and other native birds. See the magic of sunrise over the lake just a short walk away. Relax in the tropical-style gardens. Enjoy a tastefully decorated master bedroom, overlooking the pool and natural surrounds. Escape to a lazy, relaxed getaway for couples and families—just one hour north of Sydney. You are welcome to the whole house. Just one bedroom will be locked where we keep our personal items. Begin the day with a stroll to Casuarina Point—a quiet point where you can do yoga, have a picnic breakfast or simply relax, while you take in the over 180 degrees of water views. This is particularly beautiful first thing in the morning where you can watch the sunrise. Sunshine is surrounded by bush, so at both ends of the town you will find walking access to great bush walks. The Sunshine Sailing Club is a hub of activity over the weekends, particularly from October through to April. Sunshine Park is a great spot for a BBQ. It has a lovely well equipped kid's play area and oval. Our favourite local restaurants include Eight at Trinity, Thai Square, Yummy Thai and an Indian restaurant called Poonjabeez all within the Morisset surrounds. Within an hour’s drive, you can explore the wineries and restaurants of the Hunter Valley, beautiful, sandy beaches along the coast, the hub of Newcastle, and the pristine beauty of the Watagans National Park - perfect for nature lovers. The Morisset train station is just 10 minutes from our doorstep by car. Local buses come into Sunshine regularly if you wish to commute by train to Newcastle or Sydney.
