Le Cerisier (The Cherry Tree)

Le Cerisier is a farm set in the Normandy country side, directly on the circuit de randonee No8DFT. This country house is set 8km from the medieval town of Domfront and 2 km from the Abbaye and biscuit factory in Lonlay. Perfect for nature lovers and walkers. Just 1 km away there is a carp lake and day permits are available for fishing. La Ferte Mace with its lake and man made beach with lifeguards is just 45 minutes away and is a perfect place to swim, hire ponies, pedalos, picnic etc. The bedroom has a double bed a small clic clac and a cot. The clic clac is suitable for 1 adult or 2 children. This room is south facing and over looks the front garden. We provide all bedding in the form of duvets. Extra blankets and pillows are available. We can also provide a towel should you wish to take advantage of the shower. A travel cot, high chair, baby bath seat, potty and baby bedding are available on request. Guests are welcome to use my kitchen to prepare food and make tea or coffee. There is a BBQ in the garden and an area to sit and eat. For an extra cost of 15 Euros a head, 6 Euros for under 12 years, guests may join us for dinner in the evenings, Children are very welcome to watch TV, play in the garden and meet the animals. Children must be supervised at all times Please. Le Cerisier is ready to open again after the long confinement. We would like to reassure guests that we are doing everything we can to follow the guidelines for responsible hosting. It has always been our policy to clean every room thoroughly after each guest. Guests do have a separate entrance to use into the house which avoids our kitchen area and there will be hand sanitizer available when entering. You as guests will have your own bathroom and of course your own room but I can not guarantee that we will not pass on the stairs at some point. We will do our best to give you a 2M distance at all times but if you wish to use our kitchen then of course this may be difficult. We do have a field that is suitable for camping cars caravans and tents but the spaces are limited to 1 family at any one time. We can supply electric , the cost will be decided depending on the number of days you book but we do not have shower and toilet facilities although there is an outside tap for you to use to get water. WE ARE NOT A CAMP SITE. We can provide you with a small BBQ , some chairs and a table. We are happy to have children here and dogs must be kept on a lead at all times because of the animals. If there is anything else we can help you with then please contact us for advice. Our house is situated along a dead end road so we have no passing traffic just the odd tractor! We are surrounded by beautiful fields and lots of paths to walk or ride in all directions. La Fosse Arthur is a 45 minute walk from us, either by road or across our fields. There you will find a lake with a path to walk around . Our neighbours have a carp lake and it is possible to buy a day pass but you must contact them directly to book. There is also a bar and restaurant, picnic area and swings. Domfront is our nearest small town or Flers if you are looking for something larger. In Flers you will find a swimming pool, bowling, Mc Donalds as well as all the main shops. We are 90 minutes away from Le Mont St Micheal and all its beautiful coast lines. We are 3km from the village of Lonlay L'abbaye, 8km from the town of Domfront and 16km from Flers. Buses are available at various times during the day from Lonlay at a cost of 2 Euros. Our nearest train station is Flers. I do offer a collection service to and from the train station at a cost of 10 Euros and this must be booked in advance. There is a bar tabac, shop and restaurant in the village, please be aware that they are not open on a Monday. There is a chemist and a petrol pump, the pump is a card only machine. The restaurant is open for lunches and only on occasions is it open in the evenings. The Abbey is open during the day for visitors and the services are posted inside. The biscuit factory offer tours and these must be booked in advance. Dogs are NOT allowed in the bedrooms.
