Moonrakers is a cosy cottage full of character nestled in the village of Merriott, that ensures a very comfortable stay for up to 4 with two bedrooms; one double, one twin. Situated on the Somerset/Dorset border with West Bay thirty minutes away, Moonrakers offers the perfect getaway for cosy evenings in front of the log burning stove set in the inglenook fireplace or to enjoy the warmer months outside in the sunny, south-facing, private garden. The cottage is approached by stone steps from the road. There is a useful porch to store shoes and coats with a boot rack outside for those rainy days. The cottage offers a cosy, inviting sitting room where you can relax on the large sofa, watch tv, read or just snuggle up and enjoy the warmth from the woodburning stove set in the large inglenook fireplace. The dining area offers comfortable seating to enjoy meals together or to use as a work area- with easy access to the kitchen for those much needed breaks. The attractive, newly fully fitted kitchen has an AEG induction hob, electric oven and extractor fan with dishwasher, washer-drier, a large fridge with freezer drawer and nespresso coffee machine among the appliances. Upstairs there are two bedrooms with cast iron beds - one double and one two small singles. The newly fitted bathroom is upstairs, with bath and shower over- with great water pressure. Sumptuous towels and quality cotton bed linen are provided for your stay. The private, enclosed cottage garden has a table for four and enjoys a south-facing aspect with parasol for those extra sunny days. One small, well behaved dog is welcomed. There is on road parking available. Crewkerne, a five minute drive away- or a thirty minute walk is the nearest town which offers more shops and pubs. There are National Trust properties nearby, also an ideal base to explore the beaches of West Bay, Lyme Regis, Hive Beach or the pretty towns of Sherborne, Dorchester, Beer to name a few. Enjoy walking through the landscape from your doorstep, visiting the many nearby attractions including Montacute House, Barrington Court, Ham Hill and Lyme Regis to name just a few. The village of Merriott offers a general store, chemist, cafe, public house and farmshop - all within walking distance. There is also a well equipped children’s park with outdoor gym and a petrol station with post office at the end of the village.
