Hay loft in beautiful village, minutes from Bath
Our location is peaceful and quiet but with the amenities of Bath and beautiful Cotswold countryside on your doorstep! Go shopping in Bath, go wild swimming in the Avon or Frome, walk the local hills.You can even walk directly from the cottage into Bath (7miles) following the canal and catch a train back to the cottage.Once home you have a modern kitchen and bathrooms . The cottage has Fast WiFi (37gb),Smart TV with Freeview and all the usual streaming services. The Rafters is a renovated, limestone floored, 2 bedroom cottage. It has a large double height dining and living area (originally the hay loft). There is a large wall mounted smart tv (Iplayer,Netflix,etc) in front of the modern leather suite. For dining there is a modern oak dining table and chairs to seat 6 . The Rafters can accommodate 4 people in two bedrooms (one has a kingsize bed the other can be either kingsize or set up as two single beds) . The kitchen is fully equipped with cookware,dishwasher ,microwave, Washing machine,tumble dryer,etc. The house also offers Iron/Ironing board, Hairdryers ,all bed linen and towels . There is a Welcome pack of tea, coffee, sugar, milk, bread, butter, eggs and bacon. Free 37GB WiFi. There are also books and board-games in the house for the use of guests. We can provide free of charge highchairs and travel cots (bring your own bedding) for little ones. The cottage has one parking space suitable for one medium size car. The parking is directly outside the cottage.If you have a large vehicle or more than one there is free parking in the village station or opposite the Inn at Freshford ,both just a few minutes walk away. Freshford is a beautiful ancient village with a wonderful pub just a few minutes walk from the cottage( The Inn at Freshford) that serves restaurant quality food and all the local beers and ciders.We have an excellent fully stocked( from wine to organic humus!)community shop that also has a great quality cafe that serves breakfast and lunch. There is a children's playground just near the cafe. The village is nestled at the junction of the Frome and Avon valleys and is within easy walking distance of the Kennet and Avon canal. You don't need a car to stay in the cottage. The village station is a few minutes walk away. Trains hourly off peak and thrice hourly at peak times. Bath 9 mins, Bristol 22mins. There is also a local bus service to all the adjacent villages and Bath.We are a 10-15 minute car/taxi ride from Bath (6 miles).
