Cottage by watermill - 4 mins stroll to beach

Miller's Cottage is located next to our 16th century watermill and award winning tearoom (Hele Cornmill). Ideal for families : children can have a go at milling flour in the mill and have a go at counting the wooden mice and millstones. 5 min walk to Hele's dog friendly beach and a dog/family friendly pub serving good food. There are lots of walks from the cottage either on the South West Coastal Path or into the hills of Berrynarbor. The whole cottage is your private space with kitchen, bathroom, lounge and two bedrooms. There is a small private patio overlooking the stream with a small table. The Teagarden and pottingshed are also available for guests to use privately when the Tearoom is closed (ie before 11am and after 5.30pm). Parking is in our private lane. The cottage is a 5 minute drive from Ilfracombe harbour and just 300m for Hele’s dog friendly beach. There is parking in our private lane. Less than 10 minute drive to the Tunnels Beaches wedding venue in Ilfracombe. Please note there are two steps down into the cottage. There is a ground floor twin bedded room and the bathroom is also on the ground floor. However there is a flight of stairs to the lounge and double bedded room. We are usually on site when the Tearoom is open and available to answer any questions or recommend days out/places to eat/dog walks etc. There is also a large folder of information in the cottage. So, if you want a chat and a natter, we’re around but if you want to close the doors and do your own thing, that’s fine too! The cottage is opposite the working 16th century watermill where we grind flour for the Tearooms. You are welcome to look around and if you want more info, just ask David! Hele beach is just a 5 minute stroll and dogs are welcome year round. There are two dog/child friendly pubs: Hele Billy’s and the Hele Bay Pub - worth booking in peak times. And the cafe at the beach, Snacking Kraken does a good breakfast. Excellent walks on the coastal path to Ilfracombe, Watermouth Bay or Combe Martin. Or take a short evening stroll up to the community orchard. Ilfracombe is a 5 min car ride. The bus runs from the end of the footpath every hour Mon - Sat and goes from Ilfracombe to Combe Martin. Buses to Braunton/Barnstaple from Ilfracombe. Nearest train station is Barnstaple. We try to make the cottage comfortable for your holiday and provide essentials but do ask that you bring your own towels. Bathmats, teatowels and Bedlinen ARE provided.
