The River Suite of rooms

Our suite includes: large sitting room (TV, WiFi, tea-making facilities & 2 (or 3) additional single beds), reading corner, luxury bathroom, double bedroom with large balcony and views on the River Rhone & our beautiful swimming pool and gardens We offer a beautiful suite in our lovely house and well tended gardens. Coeur de Rose is sited in the centre of the little hamlet of Rix, 10 minutes walk from the River Rhone in the beautiful but little know region of the Bugey. Come and visit the Bugey and neighbouring Savoie and Dauphine and use our home as your base. Guests have full access to our gardens and pool (although we do ask that children under 12 be accompanies at all times). You will have on property parking, keys to come and go as you please and lock up facilities for valuables such as bicycles. We are happy to interact with our guests as much as they might wish. Both of us try to be present at breakfast to tell you about our region and places to visit. We can also guide you or even take you to sample local products (wine, jams, snails, etc.) and even accompany you to flea markets if you need someone to bargain for you. We will only recommend local produce and restaurants that we have sampled and enjoyed. The Bugey is in the south of the department of Ain and we live in the southern sector of Bugey very close to the River Rhone. With Isere across the river and Savoie a little to the south. We consider our region to be almost unique in France in that it offers hills, mountains, lakes, rivers, forests, meadows and marshes ... all within a short drive. For nature lovers, hikers, fishermen, mushroom hunters (your host is an expert!) and also those who simply want to relax and be lazy; you could not find better than the Bugey. The charm of our hamlet of Rix is that it is in the middle of the countryside. Thus if you wish to base on Coeur de Rose and explore the area, some form of transport (car, motorbike or bicycle) is indispensable. We are very conveniently situated close to the Cycle Route (the Via Rhôna) that is to run from Geneva to the Mediterranean. No need to worry about parking, we have plenty of on property space while we have secure lockups for other forms of transport. We have a second kitchen available for families with small children where food can be heated at any time of the day and picnics can be stored in a shared fridge. Please note that as a Chambre d'Hôtes we cannot allow cooking in the house or gardens. Our region has added a tourist tax of €0.55 (includes a 5 centimes local community tax) per adult per day. We apologise for this, and AirBnB collects this small tax at the time of booking your room at Coeur de Rose.
