We pride ourselves on our cleanliness but we are taking extra precautions to ensure the safety of our guests and to prevent the spread of Covid-19. Enveloping the property the extensive and well maintained garden has mature shrub borders, two patios with lawned areas. Burnside House is a haven for wildlife with regular visits from deers and family of ducks who take home in the burn that runs through the property. Additional privacy is afforded to the property by the tree belt to the east, south and west of the property. The custom build kitchen offers two dishwashers, two combination microwave ovens, Nespresso coffee machine and range cooker. Each bedroom features its own unique furnishings and fun decor. Take advantage of the many mirrored vanity stations to get everyone ready without a fuss. The drinks bar sits perfectly in the open plan porch so you can dance the night away on the house sound system or simply take in the tranquil view. Relax in the hot tub with a Prosecco or two. Towels and robes provided for a full spa like experience. Perfect for family gatherings, pre-wedding celebrations and special occasions. Experience days at Edinburgh Falconry and Fishing Kings acre golf course and driving range is one of many courses nearby. Midlothian Snowsports Centre, Hillend - slopes and tubing. Straiton retail park including Nando’s, costa coffee, Frankie and Benny’s, Sainsbury’s, Asda, M&S, Costa, KFC, McDonald’s, Burger King. Within walking distance to Pentland Plants garden centre and cafe. Luci’s Restaurant and Cocktail bar, The Paper Mill and The laird and dog pub are all a 7 minute drive away from the house for guests looking for a good meal and drinks. The bus stop is directly outside the entrance for an express bus into Edinburgh. Activities for families (10-30mins drive): Dalkeith Country Park - Vast park on a historical estate featuring a kids' adventure park, a cafe & an upscale gift shop. Midlothian Snowsports Centre, Hillend - Set into the hillside of the stunning Pentland Hills Regional Park, Midlothian Snowsports Centre offers all the fun and adrenaline you'd expect from Britain's biggest artificial slope. Eden Rock Edinburgh - We are Scotland's biggest indoor bouldering wall, located just south of Edinburgh. We offer a huge range of climbing and training facilities for all ages and abilities. We've got a dedicated Kids' Room, regular Kids' Clubs, courses for beginners, and coaching classes available for climbers of all abilities. We also run a specialist climbing shop and an eco-friendly café to sit back, relax and enjoy a treat (or two!). Ryze Edinburgh - Scotland's original and best Xtreme Air Sports facility. Uber - £11-£15 Bus - X37, 37, 47 at the bus stop on the opposite side of the road right at the entrance to the property. 37 is the slowest one but still about 30mins. Peak traffic weekdays 8-9am & 5-6pm. Edinburgh airport 11miles and 16minutes drive. Allow longer in peak times. As at the 9th August 2021 the Scottish government has removed all covid restrictions on self catering accommodation. We pride ourselves on our cleanliness but we will be taking extra precautions for as long as it takes to ensure the safety of our guests and to prevent the spread of Covid-19. In particular the hot tub shall be emptied, cleaned and refilled between every booking. Self check-in may be available on request, however it is beneficial to have a quick tour to find how everything works so you can make the most of your stay.
