A characterful old town house, 50 meters from the beautiful Charente river. Opposite the Place de Port is the very beautiful Chateau de Bourg-Charente where Grand Marnier is produced. I have, what could be described as quirky taste, but interesting and informal, and love to make guests feel at home!! A tasty breakfast with homemade jams will be served between 8 and 10 every morning. Guests are welcome to use the garden and the barbecue. Bourg-Charente is a magical place!! The guest room is a very large light airy space and there is a comfortable sofa by the window where the sun pours through in the morning, an ideal place for coffee and a read. Guests are very welcome to use the sitting room and especially on very hot days when it becomes a cool and tranquil space. I will always be on hand to help out in any way possible. The neighbourhood is very unique and would suit walkers, cyclists, fishermen, all river activities, gourmands and would make a great base for house hunters. Car or bicycles We have a bar/cafe/restaurant less than 5 minutes walk from the house and I can always make reservations if you would like lunch or dinner. Just 4 doors down towards the river is La Ribaudiere, well known in the area for it's Michelin star service.
