Welcome to my home from home! Situated a short drive from Carcassonne my converted farm house is nestled in the nape of a medieval church on top of the the village of Montclar with exclusive use of the pool and gardens. Spacious accommodation with everything you need to enjoy this beautiful region. Perfect for families and friends looking for an idyllic escape with tranquil gardens and private pool to enjoy. You will find the house a perfect staging ground to explore the rich history, cuisine and wine making traditions of the stunning region of the Languedoc; or just relax in secluded courtyard gardens and enjoy the pool and ambiance far from the maddening crowds. The area is quiet and safe, and can be the starting point for strolls that extend into the local countryside. You will have complete access to house "Montsegur" with private enclosed gardens and the pool when in season (May - September). The house is well equipped with all amenities and we can provide towels. You will find all basic services nearby. I am more than happy to offer my extensive knowledge of the region, places to eat, things to do etc. Likewise I will respect your privacy if you prefer. Montclar is an example of a historic medieval "village circulade", a traditional village built in concentric circles that winds up to a place of fortification or in this case a church. This arrangement would offer some protection during medieval times. There is ample parking by the Church and we are located within easy striking distance of the famous walled city of Carcassonne (20km) and the beautiful market town of Limoux (15km). There is a daily van that delivers essential produce however it is worth stocking up at one of the many supermarkets in either Limoux or Carcassonne on the day of arrival.
