This beautiful cabin sits nestled at the bottom of a steep hillside named Eagle Ridge. The property is located close to Old Man's Cave, Conkles Hollow, and Ash Cave State Park in the Heart of the Hocking Hills. Our family's private weekend retreat is available for guests to enjoy. The cabin is wrapped in windows with hillside views out the back and tree-house like views out the front. Unplug and unwind from the distractions of technology. No internet, spotty cell service. Landline provided. *COVID-19* At Eagle Ridge Cabin, we adhere to the highest cleaning standards possible. We have also implemented additional cleaning measures and guidelines set forth by the CDC and State of Ohio to ensure that our guests feel a sense of security when staying with us. We are confident that these extra measures and precautions make our cabin a safe place to stay and relax.* This is a new modern rustic retreat that replaced an old cabin that was crushed by a huge oak tree. The builder/master craftsman painstakingly salvaged old barn wood, materials and components from the original cabin to reuse in the new construction. He dismantled an old horse barn to acquire old barn siding, metal roofing, and original barn lights to use in the new cabin. This beautiful 484 sq ft cabin is a perfect example of new and reused, re-purposed, and recycled material creating a one of a kind handcrafted cabin. Wrapped in windows, you are surrounded by the outdoors while enjoying the beautiful interior. There is a Queen bed in the Loft, a single bed in the living area, and a couch (not a fold out) that can be used as an additional sleeping area. TV w/ DVD player and a selection of movies. No TV reception. CD/Bluetooth boombox with a selection of music CD's. Puzzles and games. Indoor electric fireplace. Outdoor campfire ring and charcoal grill available. A 6% Lodging Tax is included in the nightly rate. This cabin is not suitable for children under 12. No Pets, no exceptions including ESA. Please Note: This cabin is 16' x 24' with a loft. Some photos make the cabin look larger than it is. You have full access to the one room cabin and loft. The Eagle's Nest loft is accessed by a loft ladder/stairs. The loft ladder/stairs might be challenging for people that have mobility issues. See pictures. No children under 12. No Pets including ESA. Cabin is 16 x 24 with a loft. Some photos make the cabin look bigger than it really is. You will have total privacy and access to the entire cabin during your stay. NEIGHBORHOOD The Cabin sits by itself with no neighbors in sight. It is located within a mile of South Bloomingville where there is a small carryout grocery with essentials and a gas station. Within close driving distance are Ash Cave, Old Man's Cave, Cedar Falls, Conkles Hollow State Nature Preserve, Rock House, and Cantwell Cliffs. RESTAURANTS For local flavor, Jimbo's Burgers and Beer is less than 5 minutes from the cabin. It is a biker bar/ restaurant with burgers and bar food. For upscale dining, the Inn at Cedar Falls on 374, 10 minutes from the cabin, is excellent. It is costly for dinner (average $80-100 for wine and dinner), and they also serve an affordable lunch. The Glen Laurel Inn (20 minutes away) is $100-120 for wine and 6 course dinner. Kids are not permitted. Make sure to make a reservation in advance. 25 minutes from the cabin, Logan has a couple decent restaurants, a brewery (Brewery 33) and a distillery (Hocking Hills Moonshine). The Millstone has BBQ and the brisket is good. La Cascada has ok Mexican food. The Amish buffet is average. There is also various fast food. Your best bet for good food is Athens, a college town 50 minutes from the cabin. There are lots of delicious restaurants and excellent micro-breweries. MASSAGE Ash Cave Day Spa, located less than 10 minutes from the cabin, offers an array of massage services. They also offer cabin-calls, however, the cabin can only accommodate 1 massage table at a time due to space constraints. SHOPPING There is an antique mall and craft mall in Logan, then a strip of antique/craft/food shops if you go west on 33 out of Logan about 15 minutes at Rockbridge. Grocery shop before you leave home, or there are Kroger and Wal-mart stores in the major surrounding towns, but once you get into the hills your pretty much out of luck for groceries. There is a convenience store less than 5 minutes from the cabin, Stevens Country Store, if you forgot an essential. Car, motorcycle, bicycle, or foot. There's no public transport. This is the country, afterall. This cabin is not suitable for children under 12 and No Pets including ESA. There is NO internet and spotty cell service depending on your cell provider. Sprint and T-mobile usually have some service, Verizon and AT&T do not. We provide a landline phone. There is a TV/DVD player with a selection of movies, or bring your own and a CD/Bluetooth Boombox with a selection of music CD's. We also have a selection of games and puzzles. Since this is our family's private weekend retreat we have a few personal belongings in the cabin. Treat the cabin as if you were staying with family or friends. You are welcome to use the coffee, tea, cooking essentials, condiments, food stuffs, shampoo etc, if you have forgotten your own. A 6% Lodging Tax is included in the nightly rate.
