Magic of Merricks Beach - renovated

A couple of blocks from a magical beach, our newly renovated family weekender is surrounded by established trees and is across from farmland. Enjoy the tranquility and views while relaxing on a hammock, and kids playing in the large yard or cubby house. This property consists of two separate, but adjacent buildings - a newly renovated traditional house and a new, modern house with open living and kitchen area enjoying garden views. Best suited to families (not suited to infants), MAX 6 adults. PLEASE NOTE: - This holiday property includes two separate but adjacent houses (the booking is for both houses) - The property suits two large families (up to six adults and five kids), or three couples (max 6 adults) - Minimum stays apply for school holidays, peak periods and public holidays (refer to “other things to note”) - No parties and no schoolies - COVID LOCKDOWNS & REFUNDS: If a government mandated lockdown prevents staying at the property we offer change of date (preferred) or a refund with guest initiated cancellation. Traditional house - This house includes a large lounge furnished with danish furniture and has a new working fireplace. Two bedrooms - one large bedroom with a queen bed and another with a double bed and a small bunk. A new bathroom with a shower. In total it sleeps four adults and two children. This house also has the laundry (accessed externally) with a trough and a Bosch washer/dryer. The new house - This is an entirely new building with a new kitchen and appliances (fridge, Miele dishwasher, Bosch induction stove and Miele oven). The is an extendable dinning table that fits up to eight guests, but there is also a foldable table that sits four people. The sitting are has a Bose mini link sound system, TV and DVD player and a sofabed. (Please note there is no Wifi but we have had no issues with mobile reception). The kids sleeping area includes a ground level double bed and a single level bunk bed. In total this house sleeps five people. This house also includes a new bathroom with a shower. We have a great range of toys, indoor and outdoor, which you are welcome to use, as well as a selection of kids and adult DVDs for those rainy days. Sleeping configuration (Please note that linen is not included) - - Bedroom 1: queen bed - Bedroom 2: double bed (for adults) and small sized bunks (for little kids) - Bedroom 3: double bed, single bed accessed by a ladder, extra mattress for the floor - Sitting area - one sofabed (double). External amenities - A large kids cubby house in the backyard. The property has an external hot water shower and some external seats to help you enjoy the view. Our front yard is across from acres of farm land in which horses regularly roam. Relax on the front porch or on the hammock and enjoy the views. At night enjoy the night under the bright stars while enjoying the heat from our fire pit. Our gardens have many large trees which provide shade in summer and there is a large lawn area at the front of the house for those keen on some family cricket. Please note that the backyard is being re-established with natives, so it is a work-in-progress at the moment. (Beach photo is of the local beach, NOT a view shot from the house). I am available over the phone to guide guests in any way I can during your stay. Merricks Beach is a small seaside village located on the eastern side of the peninsula on the Western Port Bay. Merricks has a rather significant koala population and a host of manna gums and pine trees lining the streets. It is one of the few coastal places within a 100 km radius of Melbourne that has been basically untouched by development (it is one a very few beachside areas that has retained dirt roads and the village feel). The main beach is sheltered and does not get overly busy in summer. On the foreshore is the Merricks Beach Yacht Club, and toilet facilities. Further down, are two tennis courts. Great views of Phillip Island, the peninsula and Western Port Bay can be seen from the top of the high cliff after the main beach on the eastern side. Wildlife is abundant on the foreshore reserve that starts on Cliff Road up on the cliff, and goes down to the yacht club at the main beach. Merricks is home to the Merricks General Store on the Frankston-Flinders Road, about half way between Balnarring and Shoreham. It's origins date back to the rural 1920's era when it provided both supplies and society to the local community. - MAXIMUM CAPACITY of six adults (3 couples) and five children. - MINIMUM BOOKING LENGTH of: * 3 nights is required for a weekend with one public holiday, * 4 nights is required for a weekend with two public holidays, and * one week during December and January school holidays * 5 nights during other school holidays. DISCOUNTS - Only considered for at least one month booking during off peak and by application. CHECK IN/OUT - check in at 2pm - check out at 10am unless otherwise pre-agreed.
