Chestnut Barn Near Bakewell The Peak District

Chestnut Barn is a delightful one bedroom stone built barn conversion, self contained with its own separate entrance, located in the lovely village of Stoney Middleton. Tastefully decorated and furnished with care. We provide a generous breakfast pack for you. Ideal for walking, pot holing, climbing, cycling, horse riding or relaxing in the beautiful Peak District. Many lovely local walks - a tailor made walk book is provided. Close by is the ‘Monsal Trail’ - and cycle hire is available. There is a very comfortable sofa bed in the lounge but would point out that the cottage is open plan. The Dining Kitchen is fully equipped with - ceramic hob, Electric oven, fridge freezer, Dishwasher, and microwave We provide free Wi-Fi, and there is a TV with freeview in both the lounge and bedroom. The TV that is in the lounge is also a DVD player. A selection of films and games are provided. Access is via a key safe at the side of the patio doors, I will contact you the week before you are due to arrive to give you the code number . When you have settled in I will text you to check everything is ok, and give you any further information you may require. Just across the road is ‘The Moon Inn’ the cosy village pub which offers excellent meals, and is dog friendly. Further up the road is ‘Lovers Leap Indian Restaurant’ a very popular eatery, and the excellent Toll Bar Fish and Chip shop.(Selected by ‘The Telegraph’ as one of their best seven fish and chip shops)Local ‘Take-aways’ are available delivered from Hope Valley Pizza’s and from the Indian Restaurant. One mile down the road at Calver crossroads there is a petrol station which stocks newspapers. A Opposite this is a large Spar for all general provisions, (many from local suppliers), fresh bread baked on the premises, and a large selection of beers and wines. There are two train stations close by - Grindleford and Hathersage. There are also local busses that stop in the village. Taxis aways have to be booked a few days in advance. One small dog is permitted by prior arrangement and there is a small charge. We provide a travel cot and high chair on request.
