We offer a rustic, cozy and clean studio cabin for you to enjoy and make your home base while you explore the area. It's an intimate space to relax & rejuvenate in. We are located between Woodstock and Phoenicia making it easy to explore the eclectic shops and delicious restaurants and awesome hiking. Great skiing can be found 30-45 minutes away depending on the mountain you choose. Please read details thoroughly, so you can ensure a great getaway! We look forward to hosting you and yours! We have two cabins tucked into the mountain side, Nuthatch and Goldfinch. The cabins are about 50’ apart from one another. They are one room cabins with lot's of natural light, a queen size bed and a gas fired stove to keep you warm and toasty during the winter months and ac for the summer. There is a great sitting porch to relax on while listening to the birds in the morning and at night for star gazing and to hear the wild sounds of owls and coyotes. Bedding is provided and there is an extra blanket in the closet. There is not a real kitchen, however there is a mini fridge, toaster oven, coffee maker and electric tea kettle. Everything you need for light fare and snacks. There are plates, cups, glasses and utensils as well as organic coffee and tea on the house. If you need something while you are here just ask. If we have it, we are happy to share! There is a 32”flat screen tv with wifi and a smart box to access Hulu, Netflix, Pandora and most other apps that you might subscribe to. Each cabin has an environmentally conscience bathroom. There is a walk in shower, sink, composting toilet and on demand hot water. We provide soap, shampoo & conditioner and towels. You'll find instructions on how to use everything in the cabin in the on line house manual including scheduling the sauna. The most relaxing and luxurious feature we offer is an on site, private Scandinavian wood fired steam sauna. We offer one complimentary, any extra are $25.00 each. We try to keep up to date local guides to eating out, area events and places to explore to get you going in the right direction. The online guidebook has recommendations for restaurants, cafes, grocery and bars. We are always happy to offer suggestions too! Pets are welcome, please let us know ahead of time who you are bringing. There’s an extra of $25 for 2 dogs. It is our priority to maintain your privacy as well as ours during your stay. Most everyone always meets Corey because he sets up the sauna but if you want to say hi, please reach out! We are available by phone or text to answer any questions that you might have and help you get settled if need be. Thank you for checking us out and we look forward to hosting you and yours! Private wood fired sauna, a separate building, just need to schedule. Grogkill itself offers a good walk if you don't feel like getting in the car. The cabins are located on our property, yet away from the main house. We are in communication prior to your arrival and always available by phone or text. We are happy to answer questions or offer suggestions anytime during your stay. We value your privacy so we keep a low profile but always happy to meet in person if you would like. Our property is located in a quiet, spread out residential neighborhood. It is home to many beautiful birds, deer and other wildlife as well. A clear night sky is perfect for star gazing from your porch. You can take the trailways bus to our road and we are happy to pick you up and bring you to the cabin or it's a nice walk up about a half mile if you don't drive. There is a local bus service (Ulster County Area Transit) to get back and forth. That's a great option if you are looking to take a small retreat and getaway from it all! Definitely recommend having a car though, because we are not in walking distance to town or hikes and restaurants, etc. We live on the side of a mountain so the terrain is a bit craggy and uneven. When it rains it's muddy in places so please remember to bring your rain boots if the weather is looking iffy! We do our best in the winter months to keep paths shoveled and salted but recommend sensible boots and shoes and it doesn't hurt to bring your slippers! We get the driveway plowed after snow storms so front wheel drive is a must and you'll have no issues with 4 wheel drive. In the summer there are bugs and unfortunately ticks (especially if you go hiking) so bug spray is recommended and please check yourselves & your pets for ticks! If you are sitting on the porch, please don’t leave the door open at night as the bugs will fly right in. Last but not least are the bears! Please don’t leave any food or garbage on the porch or in your car as they will likely come for it! Don’t worry, they aren’t in interested in us and if you get to see one up close it’s pretty amazing!
