Sunbirds' Rest Whitsundays, Green Room

Open again from 01/05/21 Our home is designed for the tropics to take advantage of the upland climate and views. The comfortable Green Room has a modern bathroom & opens onto verandahs and a breezeway. The Green Room has no kitchen or laundry facilities. Guests may use a microwave oven, kettle, toaster & fridge on the verandah. A basic breakfast is provided. There is a laundromat in Proserpine (10 mins by car) and restaurants in Proserpine, Cannonvale (15 minutes), & Airlie Beach (20 minutes). We welcome guests from all backgrounds, individuals or couples, and have ample parking space. Our facilities are not ideal for young children. Families will need to utilise more than one room. We regret that we cannot accommodate pets because of our land for wildlife status. We welcome people accompanying or visiting relatives and friends who are staying at the Proserpine Hospital or nursing home. We also welcome patients from out of town who are attending the hospital for day care and must stay overnight outside of the hospital. We are just 10 minutes from Proserpine. All guests will be provided with complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits. The TV service is free-to-air broadcast (no Foxtel). There are no kitchen or clothes washing facilities for the Green Room, but guests may use a microwave oven on the verandah. All guests may use the main verandah. We can arrange self check-in if you know that you will arrive after 2000. We will send you a code for the key safe with instructions. We are happy to sit and yarn with guests, or to observe guests' wishes for peace and quiet. This is a rural residential zone and our neighbours are pretty spread out on the hill. This is the perfect place for a quiet time, an escape from suburbia and the Internet. ou should have a car to get around in. There is a local taxi service but the distances are significant, as can be the fares. It is 10 minutes to Proserpine, 15 minutes to Cannonvale, 20 minutes to Airlie Beach and 25 minutes to Proserpine airport. There can be cyclones in the Whitsundays between January and April. Our house is purpose-designed and built to maintain occupants' safety. We have a friendly dog and she does not bite. She might bark at you but then will want to play.
