Fundy Retreat

Private 'half' of a very old farmhouse overlooking the Bay of Fundy. Recently renovated and restored. Ideal as a retreat or quiet getaway surrounded by history and natural beauty. (Host lives in the other half.) All new interiors, well designed and keeping the character of the house. Important to know - the 2 bedrooms are adjoined. Huge screened 3 season sun room for dining, relaxing and sleeping (queen foldout) Total access to gardens. Walk 2k to Thomas' Cove - part of "Fundy Cliffs Geopark". A screen monitor is provided for streaming from your device, but there is no tv reception. Field parking is just outside the garden and a short distance from the house. This is an ideal retreat location where you can expect to be undisturbed. Entire private apartment I live in the same building and will help with advice for exploring the area, shopping for groceries, and whatever needs arise. The area is part of the newly created "Cliffs or Fundy Geopark" - a UNESCO designation for an area of special geological significance - Great exploring for fossils and unique formations all along this shore. There are many wonderful walks and long pebble beaches. We have, on average, 45 foot tides! in the Bay of Fundy. Drama and a changing view every 12 hours or so. This means the beaches go from very narrow to extremely wide and care must be taken about where you find yourself as the tide comes in. Tide times are readily accessible. Cycling and hiking are options, but Route 2 does not have paved shoulders, so staying on side roads is safest. There is no public transport in the area. Parking at my property is abundant and free, of course. If your stay is extended, you'll need to think ahead about shopping for food and drinks. The closest convenience store which includes a liquor outlet is 15 km away in Bass River. The closest full grocery store is 35 km away in Masstown. Basics to make you comfortable for your first morning (breakfast) will always be on hand. Talk to me if you need shopping help.
