Hill Country Retreat

Enjoy our charming, rustic cabin situated on 9 magical acres of the Texas Hill Country with 500 feet of beautiful Blanco River frontage. The 2-story cabin sleeps up to 6, with 2 bedrooms upstairs and 1 bathroom downstairs, and full kitchen. A spring-fed creek runs in wet weather, and there is an outdoor game pavilion stocked with a ping-pong table, corn-hole and ladder ball games, and horse shoes. Located 5 minutes outside of Blanco, the cabin is in a perfect location for day trips to explore the surrounding hill country. Or relax and rejuvenate on the property: splash in the river or creek, curl up in the hammocks, or enjoy a walk on the beautiful creek-side trails. Bird watchers will delight in the great variety of song-birds, raptors, wild turkeys and Great Blue Herons who frequent the property. Centrally located in the Texas hill country, there is easy access to surrounding towns and attractions: 30 miles to Wimberley 30 miles to Luckenbach 35 miles to Fredericksburg 50 miles to Austin, San Antonio and Enchanted Rock The 2-story cabin sleeps up to 6, with 2 bedrooms upstairs and 1 bathroom downstairs. The master bedroom is spacious and private. The 2nd bedroom is less private and open to the staircase (note that master bedroom occupants need to pass through the 2nd bedroom to access the stairs and bathroom). The cabin has stained concrete floors downstairs and is equipped with a full kitchen, stove, oven, microwave, refrigerator, coffee maker, etc. plus spacious indoor and outdoor living areas and an outdoor shower. The cabin is comfortable but not fancy - the land is the real draw and a truly magical spot for nature lovers and naturalists. Our section of the Blanco River is normally quite shallow - ankle to knee deep. During wet periods of higher flow it's possible to float and tube through our little rapids, but in drought conditions the levels are too shallow for tubing. Just up river at Blanco State Park there is good deep water for swimming. Guests will have access to the full house except for one locked closet, plus a laundry room and outdoor pavilion with Ping-Pong table, corn-hole, and ladder ball games. The gas grill on the deck is available for guest use. Owners will be off-site, but we are available by cell phone. Rural setting, very private space with surrounding acreage (see aerial photo). Country feel, yet conveniently located and easy access to Blanco shops and restaurants. Centrally located in the Hill Country, close to Wimberley, Enchanted Rock, Pedernales Falls State Park, Guadalupe River, Canyon Lake, numerous Hill country wineries, Luckenbach and many more fun destinations.
