Only 4 minutes from the Northern side of Benton Illinois. 3 minutes from Dollar General and Ace Hardware. Walmart by the interstate. Rural King hardware and sporting store across from Walmart Whole house, but there are a few locked closets where supplies are stored. Call me anytime with a problem or concern. I will never enter the house with out notifying you first. Just a 10-minute drive to Rend Lake, where you can enjoy fishing, boating, water and jet skiing, its clean beaches and approximately 20+ miles of scenic paved bicycle trails (rentals available at Season's Lodge at the Rend Lake Complex). Additionally, there are over 25+ mountain biking trails at Rend Lake. For more outdoor fun, one can also enjoy Benton City Park. For the wine tasting lovers, there's nearby Pheasant Hollow Winery. Additional wineries can be found on the Shawnee Hills Wine trail. Golfers have multiple options in the area that are open to the public, such as Benton Country Club and the Franklin County Country Club. In downtown Benton (Public Square), enjoy several local favorite restaurants such as: Seasoning Bistro The Buzz Jack Russell Fish Company and, Cafe Bloom. Also, there are several antique stores in the area (2 in Public Square) for those who like to hunt for that special something. For those that like a different type of action, there's the Extreme Exigency Training Academy and Shooting Park, also home of the Armed Barbers, a local favorite old school barbershop. A 20-minute drive (south) to Marion will offer more restaurants and the opportunity to shop. Marion is the home of the Southern Illinois Miners, a Minor Baseball league team. There you'll find the Black Diamond Harley-Davidson store as well as The Oasis, a seasonal outdoor drive-in movie theatre. A 25-minute drive (north) will take you to Mt. Vernon, with many options for shopping and dining. There you'll find the Roadhouse Harley-Davidson store. For family fun, the Aquatic Zoo Waterpark. We're 35-minutes from SIU (Southern Illinois University) in Carbondale, home of the Salukis, the university football team. For additional nearby outdoor activities, there's Lake of Egypt, Shawnee National Forest, Giant City State Park, Ferne Clyffe State Park ready for those interested in hiking and rock climbing. Lastly, Rend Lake State Fish and Widlife Area offers 4,000 acres of water, and over 7,000 huntable acres. Large driveway for all your trailering needs. I’m out in the country so you’ll be driving to Benton, walking and biking is possible, I see the occasional jogger. If driving you are 4 minutes from the North end of Benton and the Dairy Queen. Benton has an old town area with Antique shops, lots of country style restaurants and bars. Also a modern area of new shops and lots of fast food restaurants. Walmart and Rural King are 10 minutes away.
