Second-floor bedroom with queen-size bed in a quiet suburb. Miles of nature trails start 300 ft from our front door. --Reservations can be for up to 10 nights. --My rooms are sometimes more available than their calendars show. Click the "Contact host" button below, send me your dates, and I'll reply quickly. Thank you! Your room is on the second floor at the front of the house, with a shared (guests only) bathroom across the hall. Use the mini-fridge to keep your beverages, snacks, and left-overs cold, and the microwave to heat things up. On the dresser are a coffee maker/water heater with coffee, tea, and cocoa, and a toaster. Your room has thermal-barrier window drapes plus ... --Summer: A three-speed ceiling fan and an oscillating, three-speed desk fan. Guests have never reported that any of the fans are noisy. --Late fall, winter, and early spring: Flannel bedding and two extra blankets in the closet. I’m happy to use regular cotton bedding instead, if you prefer! —Please note that the kitchen and living room are not shared spaces. My kitchen is small and not set up for sharing, and my office is a corner of the living room. —The patio under the deck is not a shared space, but feel free to relax on our front porch and on our deck. —You're welcome to use our main-floor laundry room (washer and dryer) for $4 a load, each machine, cash up front. Exception: You'll have to take any oily or heavily soiled work clothes to a laundromat. —Parking is either up in the driveway or on our side of the street right in front of the house. The city prohibits overnight street parking from November through March, so the snow plows can do their thing. During those months, we'll coordinate the two driveway spots to make sure that we all can come and go when we need to. —We have another bedroom on Airbnb, so chances are you'll encounter another guest during your stay. —We (family) never use your bathroom, but when the other upstairs Airbnb room is booked, you'll share the bathroom with that guest (locking door knob). There's a schedule on the bathroom door to reserve shower times. —I often work from home, so will likely be around during the day and evening. However, our house is laid out in such a way that you might only see me when you're coming and going. —If you're a deck lover, we might be sharing some time on the deck. We're in a quiet residential neighborhood with very little motor traffic during the day on weekdays. You’ll see many people out walking in the evenings and on weekends. Your welcome packet includes maps of neighborhood trails and the nearby regional trails, as well as ethnic and American dining within 10 minutes of our house. Uber drivers tend to arrive in about 10 minutes. If you have a car but prefer public transportation over city driving, we're a 10 minute drive from a Park 'n' Ride lot with express connections to downtown Minneapolis and St. Paul. Below are approximate drive times from our house to a few of the major venues and museums in the Twin Cities. Please note that these drive times don’t factor in rush hour traffic, possible road construction along the route, or the time required to find a parking space. —Como Zoo and Conservatory: 27-29 min —Guthrie Theater: 26-28 min —Mall of America: 36-38 min —Minneapolis Convention Center: 30-32 min —Minneapolis Institute of Art: 32-34 min —Minnesota State Fairgrounds: 31-33 min —MSP International Airport: 35-36 min —National Sports Center: 15-17 min —Science Museum of Minnesota: 26-28 min —Target Center: 30-31 min —Target Field: 30-31 min —U.S. Bank Stadium: 27-28 min —Walker Art Center: 28-29 min —Weisman Art Museum (Univ. of Minnesota): 29-31 min —Xcel Energy Center: 27-29 min. —I'm almost always here for check-in. If I'm not here, you'll find the house key in a convenient place and I'll send you additional information by text. —You should be comfortable with dogs and cats, because we have a collie and an indoor cat. —If you're traveling with a service or support animal, please be aware that our collie is territorial with other dogs, and our cat is not friendly to other cats.
