Enjoy the darling vibes of Edna the Airstream located at the deliciously revamped West Taghkanic Diner. Walk through the Lu-Na Blooms & Herbs Garden to your private retreat where you can relax by day in the redesigned digs, then shake up some evening cocktails, BBQ & have a bonfire under the stars. A Diner breakfast is included each morning, except Tues/Weds. Drive 15 minutes into Hudson for great shopping & food, & then take in some of the best hiking & bucolic scenery in the Hudson Valley. Our sweet and homey 1977 Excella Airstream is situated next to a little creek on the forest's edge, behind the West Taghkanic Diner. She has all the touches to make your stay lots of fun and relaxing. The comfy queen and soft sheets sleeps two, with an option for a third guest to sleep on the back daybed. Brew some morning Touchy Coffee in the cute kitchenette and sit outside to listen to the stream and birds. After that early cup of damn fine coffee, grab your complementary Diner breakfast to have in bed, or sit in the Lu-Na Blooms Garden, which will be bustling with fellow patrons Thursday-Monday from 9-4. If it happens to be raining, or want to hang inside, we have provided a removable, custom table to work from or have dinner at, and plenty of cozy soft seating to lounge about. Make some cocktails with our bar setup and listen to some tunes on the bluetooth speaker. There are some lovely books to recline with, cards, and board games to play, or kick back around the fire pit with that special someone. Unfortunately, WIFI service can be a bit spotty inside the Airstream, but can easily be accessed from within the Diner or garden. We will have a binder of information explaining the the workings of the Airstream, the history of the Diner, and things to do around town from hikes and swimming holes, to farms, breweries, vineyards, bars and restaurants to visit. Parking is free and available in the large West Taghkanic parking lot. The Airstream is located roughly 100' from the Lu-Na Blooms & Herbs Farm entrance. Guests will walk down a well lit, private, gravel path to their forested little getaway. Edna is located just behind the West Taghkanic Diner and Lu-Na Blooms & Herbs Farm, where I will be gardening and harvesting. I’m usually available for check-ins if need be, otherwise we are all set up for self check-in! Edna is located in the quiet hamlet of West Taghkanic, just two hours north of NYC/North NJ by way of the Taconic Parkway, or the NY State Thruway. West Taghkanic is in the heart of Columbia County, which makes it a breezy 10 minutes to the quaint, hip riverside city of Hudson, 20 to the rolling old town of Catskill and its surrounding mountains, and 30 minutes to the artists' community of Great Barrington and her Berkshire Mountains, and close to everything in between. Having a car is the best and really only way to get around to see all the abundant beauty. Upon arrival, the refrigerator will be stocked with a complementary pitcher of filtered water. The water from the Airstream tap is absolutely safe & potable, but we still recommend either filtered or bottled for drinking . The fridge will also be stocked with some alcoholic and non- alcoholic selections that if you choose to enjoy, can be paid for in the diner, or via mobile payment service. We will get you started with some firewood for those evening bonfires, and you are of course welcome to order food and beverage from the Diner at any point during your stay.
