Discover this beautifully idyllic countryside retreat in the heart of East Devon's rolling hills. Surrounded by three acres of wildflower meadows and grazing sheep, there are two cottages and a barn sleeping 16 on this peaceful farm for you to enjoy with friends and loved ones. Expect cosy wood burning fires, 300 thread count sheets (the same you’ll find in The Dorchester Hotel), and stylishly designed rooms that showcase a collection of treasured antiques sourced from the owners' travels. [WINNER OF PLUM GUIDE AWARD, 2021] The estate consists of thoughtfully restored traditional 17th Century brick built outbuildings with two self-contained guesthouses and a large barn designed to comfortably sleep 16 guests, with further accommodation to host upto 21 people if required. There are eight well-sized en-suite bedrooms (seven doubles, including a super king, and one twin) which are lovingly furnished with a contemporary twist. The living areas feature expansive vaulted ceilings and exposed beams, wood burning fires and everything you need to relax and kick back in your home away from home. The well-stocked honesty bars also help. Hic. The two guesthouses are attached to The Barn in a large sun trapped courtyard and are a perfect way to escape the city and enjoy catching up with friends or family for long lazy weekends. The Barn itself is a wonderful entertaining space with an impressive double height vaulted ceiling showcasing bespoke Italian light features and dried flower installations, huge double doors opening onto the meadows, a reclaimed wooden dining table to seat 16, and a grand piano where you can bust out your best Etta James all night. There is also a cosy Snug to retire to with a hand-built bar, generous wood burning fire, and projector screen with all the DVDs you’ll ever need. Above The Barn are three small but perfectly formed double en-suite bedrooms, as well as The Reading Room which has an open mezzanine window with day-bed and en-suite shower room which can be used if further accommodation is required. There is also a fully functioning commercial kitchen on site if you would like to book a chef during your stay to help make it even more memorable. Please note; the commercial kitchen can only be used by professionals due to the industrial equipment. Set in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, you can also discover the very best of East Devon’s exquisite coastline and beaches nearby (20 mins drive) or enjoy some delicious food and a Devon cream tea at The Pig at Combe hotel (15 mins drive). Alongside the breathtaking walks, local activities including cycling, hiking, sailing and Land Rover off-roading amongst many others. Wildwood Escot estate is also close-by with clay pigeon shooting, a Saxon maze, and indoor/outdoor adventure parks to keep the little ones entertained come rain or shine. If you're in the mood for culture, Exeter City Centre and cathedral is 20 mins by car.
