Prepare for this loft-style cottage to charm your sandals off. Its A-frame style is absolutely adorable, filled with cedar wood accents, and grandfathered in as one of the only properties left that's literally ON the water. There is a covered top deck with fans for you to enjoy elevated, breezy, clear views. And also a lower deck with green lights and a cleaning station - perfect for fishing at night. During the daytime, feel free to use our floaties to tie up to the deck and layout! The cottage is cozy and rustic with about 1000 sqft of living area. Walk up a short stair walk to enter the cabin. As you enter, you'll find a laundry area and a kitchen that opens up to a high ceiling A-frame living space filled with cedarwood and large windows overlooking the lake. This floor also has a bedroom, bathroom, dining table, and opens up to a deck. Then, in typical loft-style fashion, you'll find a spiral staircase that leads to the master bedroom and bathroom. You can access the bottom deck by walking out of the front door and turning right. You'll find a small staircase you can walk down with a fish cleaning station and a deck space for laying out or fishing. For more details... Laundry: washer/dryer, detergent Kitchen: microwave, dishwasher, stove, oven, cookware, utensils, wine opener & glasses, dishes, dish soap, and paper towels Living Room: firestick tv, 2 recliner chairs, pull-out sofa (size: double), couch, 2 side tables, coffee table, throw blankets, a large wall of windows overlooking the lake, and direct access to the back deck Bathroom 1: shower/tub combo, towels, toilet paper, soap, and first aid kit Bedroom: Queen bed, dresser, recliner chair, extra pillows, and a window unit Master Bedroom: King bed, dresser, firestick tv, recliner chair, side tables, private bath, and windows with lake view Master Bathroom: shower, towels, toilet paper, and soap The cottage is located on a small gravel street down the hill surrounded by other A-frame-style camps. You can fit 2-3 cars on the concrete parking space and also another car and/or truck & trailer on top of the hill. If you park on top of the hill it must be directly in front of our camp b/c the other spaces are for the neighbors. You may also tie up your boat to the bottom dock! me or my husband will be available most of the time to answer any of your questions and we live 10-15 minutes away . He is the fishing expert !! You are a few hundred yards from Sandbar, which is a great place to launch your boat, get drinks and food, see live music, and you can call to rent a boat as well. You’ll be about 10 minutes or less from the city of New Roads. Plus, with it being a short drive to 190, it’s a great launching place for work or fun in Baton Rouge, LSU, and Lafayette. We also have plantation tours, fishing tournaments, shopping, and of course eating delicious food. For groceries, we have a Super Walmart, locally-owned Olinde’s, and Glaser’s Produce right down the street. This place has parking for 2 cars on the concrete and a 3rd can park across the gravel road. There is no room for boat trailers, so you should keep your trailer at the landing. Or, you can park it on the side of La-1 as well, but ONLY in front of the flyfish. Getting around, you can drive or take your boat to Bueche's or Sandbar for snacks, drinks, and/or gas. This place really is full-on WATER, WATER, WATER from almost every angle. Trust me when I say it doesn’t get any better if you are looking for a cozy getaway. This location is perfect for going to an LSU ballgame (~30 minutes) and enjoying all south Louisiana has to offer like food, plantations, antiques, alligators, fishing, bird watching, etc. Baton Rouge and Lafayette are both under an hour away.
