Riverside Bell Tent is a large traditional canvas 5 metre bell tent and set up to sleep 3 but an additional single mattress can be added on request. Your glamping bell tent is decorated with colourful carpets and rugs, plenty of cushions, throws, fairy lights, flowers, bedside tables, camping lantern, but most importantly… full size double & single sprung memory foam mattresses with gorgeous quality bedding & cotton sheets, goose down pillows and duvet covers. A funky shared bathroom block is close by with showers, toilets and sinks. Riverside Bell Tent is a special and simply beautiful place to be day and night. This tent is very close to the lake edge- please make sure that extra special care is taken for families with young children. There is no electricity in the bell tents. You are able to use electricity sockets in the West Lexham Garden Kitchen. We have switched from being a self-catered glampsite to a fully-catered, biodynamic extravaganza. Our kitchen is for our on-site guests only so you’ll always get a table. If you are booking for 4 people in a bell tent you will need to select 3 people staying and add an additional mattress. Our bell tents are spread across the 21-acre estate. Your home from home could be lakeside or wooded. Each bell tent is beautifully and vibrantly bedecked with up-cycled furniture, plush bedding and twinkling fairy lights. Wake to the sounds of birds and watch the natural world roll by from the comfort of your double bed. Your dedicated garden washhouse with eco toiletries is but a short stroll away. Our luxury glamping facilities are designed with sustainability in mind, and there’s plenty to see and do on our 21 acre estate, whether you’re looking for a short weekend break or a longer staycation. Please be aware that there are numerous areas around our site with deep water; including an unsupervised swimming pool, lakes and rivers. Riverside Bell Tent is located next to some open deep water. We have planted every type of tree and shrub indigenous to the UK here and work hard to promote habitats for wildlife. In spring and summer, the site is alive with glorious flowers attracting many happy bees and insects. If you’re looking to immerse yourself in nature and a slower pace of life, West Lexham is the perfect sanctuary. We welcome you to explore our entire 21 acre estate - no where is out of bounds. There are plenty of quiet corners to enjoy your own company or you can head to the communal Fire Bowl, and explore our Japanese Gardens. Full access to the manor gardens & grounds, wild swimming lake & rowing boats One communal fire pit & plentiful supply of wood. You’ll meet many helpful members of our team from 9am to 5pm throughout the week. We will also provide you with the mobile number to contact the host on duty, available outside of office hours and throughout the weekend to help with any issues. We are close to some of Norfolk’s best pubs - The Dabbling Duck in Great Massingham is a particular favourite! We love the saturday morning market in our local town, Swaffham, where there are 2 big super markets. We are also just half an hour from spectacular sandy beaches and a short drive to some awesome cultural attractions including Houghton Hall and Holkham Estate. For the kids, there are plenty of adventurous days out. We are 5 mins drive from ‘ExTREEme’ high ropes and the award-winning Hootz House at Pensthorpe is 25 mins away. Please feel free to ask us for recommendations! Directions We encourage our guests to consider the most sustainable option of travel. BY TRAIN Our nearest station is Downham Market, with direct trains from London Kings Cross (1hr23) and Cambridge (40m). We recommend pre-booking your taxi from Downham Market Station (25 mins). If you’re visiting for a retreat or event, you could organise to share a taxi with fellow participants. BY CAR We are a 2.5 hour drive from London and have plenty of onsite parking (large enough for a coach/mini bus). You will arrive accurately at our location by searching PE32 2QN in your sat nav/ (Hidden by Airbnb) maps, with the turning for West Lexham clearly sign-posted on the A (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) Keep driving through the village until you see signs for Car Park 1 & 2. FROM STANSTED AIRPORT Take a train to Ely where you can change trains for Downham Market, our local station. We recommend booking a taxi from the station in advance. FROM NORWICH CITY AIRPORT The airport is 45 mins by car. Alternatively, take a bus to Norwich City Centre, where you can take another bus to Swaffham, our local town. From Swaffham. you can book a taxi to bring you to West Lexham (15 mins). We recommend using (Hidden by Airbnb) Maps to plan your trip.
