Tranquility-House in forest/w use of lake-room 3
Welcome to one of Canada’s hidden outdoor lovers haven. Come enjoy the beautiful sights and sounds of the Greater Madawaska area, which encompasses Calabogie, which is 10 minutes down the road, where you and/or your family can enjoy all the water sports imaginable, even if you don’t bring your own toys, you can rent most power machines at Urban Sports to use while visiting. In Winter there’s still a lot of outdoor options like skiing, we are located between the Pakenham hill and calabogie hill. We offer 3 unique rooms in your own side of a 6 bedroom house, tucked into the Renfrew forest with access to beautiful Hurd’s lake, where you can swim, boat, or just hang out and have a fire in the fire pit, which is a private lake and the only way to access it is by our little community beach and docks , unless you own a cottage on the lake. You just have to tell whoever asks who you are, that you are visiting 1267 Fraser Rd. You have the use of the whole front yard which is mostly fenced off. There is a beautiful view of the front yard from the veranda where you can hang out listening to all the native and natural sounds. There is a shared lounge/office/kitchenette, where you can make a coffee or snack and watch one of the free movies. There is free parking on the grass, just to the right when you pull in. Guests have access to their own side of the house which includes their own personal room, with a shared occupancy with the rest of the space which includes a lounge/office/kitchenette, 1.5 bathrooms, the outdoor veranda and the outdoor common area. The guests have access to our small community beach/boat dock/sitting dock/fire pit, just have to tell whoever asks ‘who you are’ that you are visiting 1267 Fraser rd I actually love socializing , but totally respect people’s privacy, so won’t ‘hang out’ any more than I need to unless the guests have questions/comments. I live on the property so I’m very easy to get a hold of(usually someone is hone 24/7), this is good for other guests security as the owner can respond quickly. Myself and my father are both double vaccinated, but will still wear masks in any common area or when interacting with guests. Our road is one of the most direct routes between Renfrew and Calabogie, with Calabogie being one of Ontario’s hidden gems for outdoor activities, the whole area is ATV and SxS friendly and can legally drive them on the shoulder of the roads and if you get a daily/weekly trail pass you can ride the trails between most of the small towns around central eastern Ontario (Perth, Carleton Place, Arnprior, Renfrew, Calabogie, Pembroke, and much more). There are the Calabogie races where you can rent a race car and drive it on the track, there’s the Boncherre caves where you can go spelunking, there’s Eagles Nest where you can park your car and walk up Manitou Mountain to where you can stop and admire the view of the rock face lookout, also known as a place of peace to the native Americans . There are places in Calabogie that rent (ATV, SxS, boats, jet ski, snowmobile), so even if you don’t bring your own, you can enjoy the area. In winter we are located in between two different ski hills, the beginner hills of Pakenham or the more advanced hills at Calabogie ski hill. All the trails in the area that host all the power machines in the summer, end up being some of the best cross country skiing in Ontario. A car or truck is the quickest way around our area, but the areas most unique aspects will be missed by rushing by, why not use your bike or bicycle to see all the beautiful natural scenery. In case your out at our place without a vehicle, we go into town quite often to pick up supplies and have no problem picking up some essential supplies for guests without transportation. In case of emergency or if the guest would like to go into town (Renfrew) there is a taxi service that goes to our home. Best of both worlds, beautiful scenery, but also access to emergency services. Dogs - There are dogs on my side of the property (Great Dane -Ripture, Belgian Malanois- Armeades) and might bark from time to time, especially when they see a new face or smell a new canine. Keep an eye on your own pets and do not allow them to cross over into my side (separated by a fence) to interact with my dogs. My dogs are friendly but I have to be extra safe. Visiting the beach- If you visit the beach (located just at the bottom of the hill, where you will see 2 sets of Canada post mailboxes, go down street past the one house on the left, then you will see a bar gate, go around the gate to the beach/boat dock/fire pit) just tell whoever asks ‘ who are you’ that you are a guest of 1267 Fraser Rd. Parking- when you pull into our yard please turn right and then look to your right where you will see your assigned parking on the grass (corresponds to room number) Airbnb entrance is the front of house that faces the street, just walk on the grass to the front steps up to the veranda to the front door.
