Brae Cottage Welcome to Brae Cottage, a well proportioned two bedroom detached residence which is nestled at the edge of sleepy national trust Cushendun village which was originally designed in 1800s as a bathing destination for family holidays. The Cottage which boasts sea and river views, is right within the village seconds walk from all local amenities including the pubs, restaurants and the local shop. The house is cosy and comfortable a perfect place for a relaxed holiday with friends or family or a romantic break. It boasts a sitting room with village and sea views, open fire, generous bedrooms, modern bathrooms and well appointed and equipped kitchen. Our bedrooms are both en-suite and there is a downstairs WC also and a large main bathroom. We have a supply of logs and turf for you should the weather let you down you can still relax by a cosy open fire and rest. The house has a small collection of books and games for guests to enjoy. If you step outside or leave open the windows you’ll have the pleasure of hearing the waves crashing into Cushendun Bay. Quaint and modern, the house is equipped with everything you might need for a relaxing beach weekend or should you wish to access some of the stunning walks or scenic drives that the North Antrim Coast have to offer. We encourage you to picnic as we do in some of the many glorious nearby Glens of Antrim areas of outstanding natural beauty. We are dog lovers and Brae Cottage is dog friendly. We hope you love the cottage and Cushendun as much as we do. There is sufficient private car parking space for at least two cars. We have an outdoor plug beside the car parking space where you can top up charge if you are driving an electric car. We are a three to five min walk from the (now) world famous Cushendun Caves which featured in HBO Series, the Game of Thrones. For fans of the series it was the location of the scene where Melisandre, the red priestess gave birth to the Shadow who ultimately killed Renly Baratheon. Cushendun's excellent traditional pub and restaurant "Mary McBrides" was one of the smallest bars in Ireland. The front bar retains its original proportions, but now extended by the National Trust and run by a local family it also hosts one of the much coveted Game of Thrones Doors. Take a look and enjoy a glass and a bowl of chowder. The Old Church Arts Centre is a five minute walk through the village and hosts multiple events for adults and children throughout the year including the 'Cushendun Bigs Arts weekend' which happens every May. We can provide additional extras to make your time at Brae Cottage special. Please with us if you wish to pre-order a picnic basket or flowers which we can leave for you to make any special occasion or romantic break special.
