Casita in the Barrio

Your own casita with queen size bed and adjoining bathroom located 45 minutes south of the Tucson International Airport, a short 10-minute walk from the center of the charming and historic village of Tubac and steps away from the Anza trail for hiking and birding. With adjacent patio for your exclusive use and a private entrance, your casita will be the perfect “headquarters” for your visit to Southern Arizona or a great place to house your "overflow" guests! The casita is cozy but with all the amenities, small fridge (for beverages plus) w/ freezer, microwave, Keurig coffee maker, wifi, Amazon Echo Dot, high definition Roku TV with Netflix, Sling TV and all of the network channels. And if you are a "road warrior" the space is a laptop friendly workspace with a folding table and chair which are stored in the casita for your use as needed. We say cozy because it is 250 sq ft with an in suite full bath with walk in shower. And if that is not enough, enjoy the adjoining patio for your exclusive use, including fresh air work space. A detailed folder of our “ins and outs” will help you maneuver the sights, sounds and cuisine of the area, all with the input and experience of your hosts. The Location Spend your days exploring Tubac (a short walk of a few blocks) where art and history abounds and/or all of Southern Arizona with day trips to Bisbee, Patagonia, Nogales, Arivaca and the list goes on. If you are a birder or hiker, the Anza trail is a few steps from the casita as are the adjacent neighborhoods for an early morning walk. And not to be forgotten are the fantastic restaurants in Tubac, Rio Rico and Nogales (both Arizona and Sonora), especially for authentic Mexican. Our Experience So far, guests have come from over 25 different states as well as Canada, Mexico and France. The majority are couples but the casita also works very well for one. The length of stay varies from the minimum up to 7 nights with the majority being 3 nights. And the reasons for visiting – exploring Southern Arizona, looking for a property to purchase, attending a wedding, attending an art workshop, vendors participating in Tubac’s fabulous art festivals, birding, golf, friends visiting friends, dental work in Nogales, Sonora, MX, a birthday or anniversary or just getting away from it all. So, if this describes you, we would love to have you as our guests. Our Policies and Practices We take cleanliness and sanitation seriously. The linens and towels have been washed with the additive Lysol Laundry Sanitizer. Countertops, door handles, remotes, the fridge, freezer and microwave, the toilet and shower, your key, etc. have been sanitized with Clorox or Lysol Cleaner. Hand Sanitizer as well as hand soap can be found at the sink. Clorox or Lysol Cleaner and Disinfecting Wipes can be found in the cabinet below the sink. Finally, an air purifier is located in the casita. In return we expect our guest to tell us if they have become sick while our guests (fever, chills, etc.) and where appropriate, we may ask that you use a thermometer that we will have available. Lastly, we ask that you social distance when we interact and also wear masks. Finally, we welcome guests of all colors, religious backgrounds and sexual orientations. Your "host" remains available, on premises, to make recommendations of daily activities, restaurants, etc. The neighborhood is residential, therefore it is quiet and our neighbors expect the same from our guests.
