Enjoy a one-of-a-kind stay in this restored 1700s cabin guest house with modern updates and beautiful decor. Off the beaten track but only about 1 hour from both DC and Baltimore. Located on a working farmstead and close to wine country, breweries, a goat cheese creamery, farm-to-table dining, and more. A favorite landing place for those out in the country enjoying Loudoun's Artists' Tour, Farm Tour, Wine Country Half Marathon, a wedding, a hiking trip, or just a weekend in the countryside. This eighteenth century cabin was reconstructed on our property in the '80s from its original timber. You'll love its huge, rough hewn logs and the wide floor boards. The decor is a mix of primitive, vintage, and contemporary furnishings. We've outfitted the cabin to make it a comfortable home away from home for you: an antique four poster bed, luxurious Belgian linen sheets, fluffy 100% cotton towels, bathrobes, organic coffee and tea, a small refrigerator, homemade granola, and more. PLEASE NOTE: The cabin has electricity, and has seasonally available heating and cooling, as well as its own fireplace, but it DOES NOT have its own plumbing. A full bathroom for your use is located in our main home, just 50 feet from the cabin's location. This doesn't cause most guests a huge inconvenience, but it does make middle-of-the-night or cold weather trips a bit more of an adventure. The cabin: The cabin is a private, restored 1700s guesthouse that will be yours for the duration of your visit. We will come in if you need us to replace your water or service anything, but otherwise, it is your personal, private space. The main bed is a large full four-poster bed with Belgian linen bedding. There is an additional queen air mattress available for use. We welcome families with children and also have a pack-and-play available for your smallest family members. The property: The cabin is located on our small, working farmstead. We have chickens, ducks, a large kitchen garden, and a small culinary mushroom growing operation. You are welcome to walk around the property and enjoy yourself. There is a perimeter path through 4 wooded acres that you can enjoy, and a shared terrace area where you can have your morning coffee or relax with a book. Bathroom & shower: As the cabin does not have plumbing, the first floor bathroom and shower in the main farmhouse will be your own to access while you stay with us. There is also a fun outdoor bucket shower in the woods for hot summer days or to get a little closer to nature. Coffee, tea, water, light breakfast & more: The cabin comes equipped with a large water dispenser system that will be replenished for your use daily or as necessary. There is a small kitchenette area in the cabin that includes an electric kettle, mini fridge, coffee cups, a French press, coffee, tea, glasses, wine glasses, a wine/bottle opener, and more. I provide housemade granola, milk, and Greek yogurt for all guests as a light breakfast. Luxurious amenities: Just because the cabin is rustic doesn't mean you can't be comfortable. You'll be supplied with fresh stacks of organic cotton towels, Belgian linen sheets, clean bathrobes, games, books, and more. I own and run the property with my husband Ben. We're experienced Airbnb hosts who love to meet new people. We are happy to interact as much with or as little as our guests require. We do both have "day jobs" and may be less available during weekdays, but are always just a phone call or text away. We're both involved in the local food/farm/wine/beverage scene and are happy to give recommendations. The house manual (available upon request via email and as a paper copy in the cabin) also contains a wealth of information about local spots. You will need a car to get around - we are located in the country and there is no public transportation. The MARC Brunswick line stops just 5 minutes from our home in Brunswick, Maryland, so those coming from DC could arrange pickups from others if you have multiple people coming from different areas. - Again, please note that the cabin does not have its own plumbing, so bathroom facilities are located inside the main house, just steps away from the cabin. You are provided with drinking water in the cabin at all times. - This is a farmstay in a restored 1700s cabin. The cabin is very comfortable and we keep it clean, but do be prepared for possible draftiness, chickens on your doorstep, the occasional wasp or ants, etc. -- everything that comes along with the charm of old, rural settings. - We enthusiastically welcome all guests of all genders, sexual orientation, nationalities, races, ethnicities, religions, and abilities. (However, the property is unfortunately not very wheelchair accessible.)
