Scotland Island is located at the southern end of Pittwater, just moments from Church Point, and about 40 mins from Sydney’s CBD Activities include: - explore Pittwater by boat or kayak - explore Ku-ring-gai National Park - swim or relax by the beach - explore Scotland Island - walking around the island is a ~45 minute walk along the internal roads or along the waterline at low tide - local restaurants / cafes such as the Waterfront Cafe at Church Point (live music Friday nights and Sunday afternoons), Pasadena, The Newport, RMYC, RPAYC, Quays Marina, Gibsons Marina, Cottage Point Inn, or one of the many fantastic restaurants at nearby Mona Vale and Terrey Hills - fishing off the jetty, nearby wharfs or by boat - nearby activities include sailing, pubs (Mona Vale Hotel - ParkHouse, The Newport), golf (Bayview or Palm Beach), northern beaches (Palm Beach is just a short boat ride away) - take the Boathouse Ferry from Newport to Palm Beach or Patonga - hire a motor boat and explore the Hawkesbury River including Akuna Bay and Cottage Point - yacht charters Scotland Island is an offshore community, therefore there is no car access to the property. However, the property is conveniently located just steps away from Bells Wharf, a quick two minute ferry ride from Church Point ($9.70 per adult / $4.70 for concessions / free for kids under 5) see Church Point Ferry Service). You can also take a water taxi to the property's private jetty or to Bells ($19 per trip for up to 6 people, see Pink Water Taxis). There are also a number of boat hire options in the Pittwater area, if you'd be interested in a commuter boat for part of your stay (try Boab Boats or Ocean Boats). Please let us know if you would like to berth your own vessel at the private jetty during your visit. Depending on the size of the vessel this may be possible to accommodate or alternatively a private mooring may be arranged in front of the house. At Church Point there are public car parking facilities. There is limited free street parking available around the Church Point / Bayview / McCarrs Creek area within a 15 minute walk of the Church Point ferry wharf. The annual Scotland Island Dog Race (6pm Christmas Eve) starts from our beach - well worth witnessing!
