Our retreat is perfect for couples or families who love the quietness and beauty of the countryside, not a suitable venue for noisy gettogethers . A Mongolian Yurt with excellently equipped heated kitchen/shower cabin .Hot tub. Wi Fi .Radiators to keep you warm and subtle lighting. Choose the fire in the yurt or the garden fire pit or roof terrace with stunning views. Outdoor heater under canopy for winter dining or eat in the kitchen or yurt. A wonderful winter get away,much to do locally. The Yurt is decorated to a very high standard creating a warm cosy atmosphere. The accommodation is flexible offering options for families up to 6 .The beds are so so comfy with the option of electric blankets. The Mongolian floor mattresses are memory foam as is the sofa bed. Choose to eat in either the Yurt around the fire, in the kitchen cabin, on the roof terrace or around the BBQ fire pit in the small enclosed, dog friendly garden area. There is also a dining area under a canopy with electric heater for the chillier nights. Your area is yours alone and very secluded. The Yurt overlooks a brook where otters may be seen if you are patient and wait quietly around dusk. Kingfishers and egrets can also be spotted . Play pooh sticks over the brook bridge or go paddling . You can walk from the yurt across a little bridge in to the field next door and start on your walk or just stretch your legs. The area is renowned for wonderful walks and there is a framed map in the cabin showing them all, and the very good local pubs are marked in orange and both a 40 minute walk. Travel to Monkey World , Bovington Tank Museum or the many beaches on the south coast or visit the famous Longleat Wildlife Safari Park. Shaftesbury ( Gold Hill ) and Sherborne are 30 minutes away. There is a small 10m indoor pool at Victoria Barn nearby which is pay as you go or there are wild swimming areas to be found on The River Stour nearby. The hot tub is set at 40 degrees. The Lazy Spa Helsinki can seat 6 and is very comfortable. In the Autumn /Winter months there are many local Christmas fairs, Cheese festivals, Longleat Festival of Light from November 5th and Weymouth Seafront New Years Eve celebrations are rated among the best in Europe. Once booked in you will be sent PDF's with information and instructions for use and all other useful information. The access is on our shared driveway where you can park outside the cabin. Once in the cabin your area is very secluded and private and you can forget about your car if you wish ! There is a code for the front door. I will be contactable by phone for any problems but there will be also contact numbers for DIY help. The Yurt is in a very small hamlet of only 8 homes. Everyone is very friendly but please be respectful with noise levels. There is no public transport nearby. Please note that our area is noise sensitive. We sit in a valley where noise travels so please be respectful when sitting on the roof terrace.
