A 1900 farmhouse that has been in the family for generations. Recently renovated to accommodate up to 5 guests, it is clean with simple furnishings and a SPECTACULAR VIEW! Located RIGHT ON NYS RTE 86 (close to the road) with easy access to nearby attractions. The house is split in 2 and is designed for 2 families. I rent out "The View" using airbnb exclusively. My wife and I reside in the back portion of the house with a separate entrance and separate parking. The VIEW! The VIEW! The VIEW! Downstairs is an open kitchen, dining, living room and bathroom complete with a shower and whirlpool tub. All sheets, blankets and towels are provided. The 3 bedrooms are located upstairs - 1 queen, 1 full, & 1 single. The 2 larger bedrooms have air conditioning along with the downstairs living space (during summer and fall months. ) Outside, we have a fire pit with adirondack chairs to enjoy the view and a nice warm fire. We also have a BBQ grill available for those who'd rather grill! Come and enjoy the Adirondacks! THIS HOUSE IS LOCATED RIGHT ON RT 86 AND CLOSE TO THE ROAD so you will hear some traffic mostly in the morning and late afternoon as people are traveling to and from work. We hope that our guests will enjoy the space and the view as we continue to make improvements! *To anyone interested in using the property for weddings / elopements, please feel free to inquire separately as opposed to booking (unless you intend to stay as well!) Our guests have full access to the FRONT half of this house (roadside), front yard, both side yards, and the field across the street! Also, the outside fire pit and BBQ grill! We live in the back part of the house with our 2 children and we have a separate entrance and driveway. Your portion of the house is separate and private from ours and has the BEST VIEW! The back of the house and buildings behind the house are private and not intended for guests. Thank you. Occasionally we will have weddings on the property as people enjoy the area and view from the property. If a wedding is scheduled during your stay, we will certainly let you know. For those that are interested in weddings feel free to inquire for use of the field, but please note that separate arrangements must be made with us for any such event. You do not need to 'rent' our home for use of the field. We will be available by phone or AirBnb messaging (by using WIFI available at the house) to answer any questions or needs. We live in the back portion of the house with our own separate parking and building access (on the opposite side of the house). There is no shared space, guests have complete access to everything listed. We are pretty busy most of the time, but if we happen to see you sitting outside having a good time, we might just stop by to say say hi and make sure you're comfortable or have any questions while still respecting your privacy. Wilmington is home of Whiteface Mountain, an olympic ski center. Other nearby attractions: Whiteface Ski Center 6.2 miles Downhill Mtn biking and Adventure Park on Whiteface! 6.2 miles Whiteface Memorial Highway 5.2 miles Santa's Workshop at NORTH POLE, NY! 4.4 miles AuSable River - fishing and swimming High Falls Gorge 7.2 miles Many hiking trails nearby Lake Placid 22 miles ( 15 - 20 min). Montreal 97 miles (1 hr 52 min) Burlington, VT 66 miles (approx 2 hrs depending on route of travel) Albany, NY 137 miles (2 hrs 15 min) New York City 285 mile (5hrs) The best way to get around in our area is by car. Taxi, Uber, and bus are NOT realistic options. Being in Wilmington, I am about a 15 - 20 minute drive to Lake Placid! Most people don't mind this at all. Please also keep in mind that Whiteface Mountain is IN Wilmington and only about 8 minutes away. The open field across the street is family property and is available to take small hikes, have a picnic, watch the wildlife, or just enjoy the view!
