Our cottage is located on the southeast shore of South Twin Lake, one of the five lakes that make up the PEMADUMCOOK CHAIN OF LAKES which is the fourth largest lake system in Maine (18,000 acres!). It is 26 miles (about 30 minutes) to the southern entrance of Baxter State Park, home of MT. Katahdin...Maine's highest peak and the northern terminus of the Appalachian Trail. Baxter State Park provides the ultimate access to a hikers paradise with some of the most breathtaking mountain views that all of Maine has to offer. The entire area offers tremendous hiking (all different levels), moose watching, whitewater rafting, canoeing, kayaking, fly fishing, ATVing and much more. The house sits on a large 1 acre grass lawn, with a vacant wooded lot next door the ultimate privacy. Full access to the lakefront for fishing on the dock, 2 kayaks available and steps to the waters edge for swimming. 1st floor bedrooms are queen and twin, large full bath, w/d. Side enclosed porch has breakfast bar that seats 6. Full Kitchen with all amenities and open concept for living area of sofa and chairs with walkout access to deck for amazing sunset viewing. 2nd floor bedrooms 2 with full beds, 1 bunk bed over garage with access from breezeway. Game room area with pool table, high top and large dining table for big family meals and cards. 2 decks off game room on each side of house. Living area has TV with DISH Network. Cell phone service is limited but available from the outside decks. Outside amenities include charcoal grill, fire pit, 8 person picnic table, outside furniture on deck for seating. Pristine water for swimming and fishing with aluminum dock. Railroad track runs in front of camp and conductor is always willing to toot his horn for eager train enthusiast.
