Charming house in quiet hamlet, Poitou Charentes

This house, renovated by its architect-owner, is situated near the village Celles-sur-Belle, in the Poitou Charentes . It has been simply furnished and suits those seeking a restful and private environment and key amenities available on foot. Attractions include nearby forests for walking, bike tracks, Roman Churches, and more. Larger local villages with excellent markets such as Melle, and the town of Niort, with more cafes, cimemas, shopping and beautiful historic architecture. The space is rustic in its look and feel, and best suited to guests who seek a quiet and simple ambiance. During your stay, you will also have access to a large garden area as the house surrounding the house, which is beyond the fenced section shown in the photographs which has been erected to assist in containing small children. There is adequate parking for 2 cars. If I am not in the region, we will arrange a meet and greet service with English-speaking representatives, who can explain any particularities of the house including the use of the heating stoves and access to the granules, along with firewood for those wishing to use the fireplace. The house is situated in a hamlet, in an Impasse without passing traffic. While a supermarket, pharmacy, bank, bakery, post office and other amenities are 5-10 minutes away on foot, they are not visible from the house. The area is rural, and has excellent Baroque and Classical music concerts over summer held at the local Abbay of Celles-sur-Belle, cimemas in the close-by town of Melle and Niort, and various other activities throughout the year. It is preferable to have a car to access the villages beyond Celles-sur-Belle which is 15 minutes away on foot, though a bus service does run twice a day between the larger towns. Parking is found easily, and for trips further away, the local train stations do have paid parking, enabling access to the TGV lines more easily. We do not have a shower, as such, but a bathtub with a shower. The house is available for reservations for a maximum of six unless otherwise agreed with guests.
