The studio has its own entrance so is suitable for key workers requiring accommodation for essential work purposes. Idyllic ground floor location in a beautiful Mill on the River Loddon. You will sleep soundly with the gentle sound of the river to lull you to sleep in this beautifully appointed studio apartment with river and woodland views. The property is tucked away and yet easily accessible from Junctions 5 or 6 of the M3 - about 8 mins by car. Easily accessible from the M4. There is a tv with Sky and a DVD player so you can relax and unwind in your private space, with comfy sofa and armchair. The kitchen is perfect to prepare breakfast and simple meals (choice of Tesco M and S or Waitrose close by) and you can give us a list of your preferred breakfast items to await your arrival. Dining table and chairs which can also be used to set up a work station with fast broadband included. But you might be distracted by the peaceful view of the river! There is plenty of hot water and a power shower. All linen and towels are provided. Iron and ironing board available on request and use of washing machine if required. Ground floor access to the studio which is your private space throughout your stay. Free secure on site parking. We live on the upper floors of the Mill so are around if you need help or advice or even a lift to or from a pub or station. You can be assured of complete privacy in this self contained apartment. We have a very friendly small black Labrador but let us know if you prefer not to have her greet you on arrival This is a perfect spot to explore the Hampshire countryside with scenic walks along miles of footpaths from the property. Old Basing is steeped in history from the times of Oliver Cromwell - visit the ruins of Old Basing House and the Tithe Barn. There are 3 pubs in the village and great choice of gastro pubs a short drive away. Visit the old market towns of Odiham (15 mins) and Alresford (30 mins)or Stockbridge, on the River Test with its renowned fishing. For city lovers Winchester and Salisbury are just 30 or 60 mins away. Enjoy the National Trust properties in the area - the beautiful garden at West Green House outside Hartley Wintney, The Vyne at Sherborne St John and Hinton Ampner near Alresford. A little further and you can visit Mottisfont near Romsey and the beautiful Dorset coastline is within an hour’s drive. Downton fans can arrange to visit Highclere Castle which is in the Newbury direction and set in the most wonderful parkland - the series comes to life when you see where it was filmed. For travels by train, there is an excellent service to and from Waterloo from Basingstoke which is about 10 minutes from the property.
