4BR Family Friendly House - Downtown Location!

Entire house in ideal downtown location with easy access to bike path. Walk to Lake Mendota/Tenney Park in less than 5 minutes. Capitol building, Monona Terrace, and UW campus are less than 10 minutes away via car or bike. 20+ restaurants/bars minutes away. We have long term stays available January (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) to June (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) for $2,500/month. We'll be on one last trip before kids are locked into school schedules so there's some flexibility on dates. Contact me for details. We live here full time with three young kids. While we're happy to rent our place out, it involves some real effort on our part (ask any parent about their toddler cleanup war stories - and don't be surprised to find some "artwork" on a bedroom wall). We only do this a few times a year, enough to help pay our property taxes. Our personal belongings will be present in the house but we try to clear away most of the kid stuff and bring in a professional cleaning crew before your arrival. If you have any concerns before booking, I'm happy to address them. Our house is 100+ years old so expect character - wood floors, fireplace (firewood provided), creaky stairs, but also some modern amenities - central A/C, fast internet (400mbps), and good water pressure. Sleeping arrangements include 3 bedrooms upstairs - queen, queen, bunk beds. The 4th bedroom is a den/kid space on the main level with curtained french doors to the dining room and a convertible bed (twin to king). Our house is fully licensed by the city of Madison's Health (LICHMD (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) ) and Zoning (ZTRHP (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) ) Departments (i.e. your reservation won't be cancelled for crackdowns on short term rentals). Madison limits Airbnb rentals to owner occupied properties only and a maximum 30 rental days per year. Feel free to borrow anything we've left behind, the entire house is accessible. Washer/dryer in basement. Canoes/kayak/bikes can also be made available by request. The confirmation will include a link to the house manual with just about everything you could need to know. By default you'll get the combination to the key lock box and a house manual so you won't see us. That said, we're more than happy to meet you on the way in or out if you'd prefer the hands on approach. We're also available via text, email, or phone call if anything comes up. Our house is in a small neighborhood right next to one of the city's best parks (swimming in the summer, ice skating in the winter) and right on the bike path that runs along the river dividing the isthmus and continues into the citywide network. While the neighborhood itself is quietly tucked away on the isthmus, there are a ton of unique restaurants, bars, and cafes within a 10 minute walk and also 2 grocery stores. Personal favorites are listed in the house manual. The main arteries through downtown are less than a block away and have a ton of buses running through the isthmus. Uber is quick and easy as well. Our house has driveway parking for 2 cars and street parking is easy to find with no time restrictions. Airport is 7 minutes by car, 28 minutes by bus (every 30 minutes). ~$10 via Uber. Camp Randall is 9 minutes by car, 15 minutes by bike path, and 25 minutes by bus (leaving every 15 minutes). ~$7 via Uber. Alliant Energy Center is 8 minutes by car, 20 minutes by bike path, and 39 minutes by bus. ~$11 via Uber. Monona Terrace/Capitol/State Street is 4 minutes by car, 9 minutes by bike path, 14 minutes by bus, and 30 minutes by walking. ~$7 via Uber. Kohl Center/UW Campus/Memorial Union Terrace is 8 minutes by car, 10 minutes by bike, and 20 minutes by bus. ~$7 via Uber. Our neighbors (and their young children) do not appreciate loud parties. Large groups that can entertain themselves at reasonable hours and noise levels when outside are fine, but if you're a rowdy group, our place isn't for you. There is a 6 person hot tub on the property. Per city/county ordinances, this hot tub is available for long term guests staying 30+ days as it is not licensed or inspected for commercial use (short term rentals are considered commercial)
