South View Garden Chalet
The Chalet is located on the small holding and is a recently refurbished well insulated former cart shed. The Chalet is a one room accommodation with a shower/WC room. There is a fridge, sink unit and work surface with cupboards stocked with crockery. There is a microwave and a toaster. However, there is no cooker. A double bed, with bedding is provided. Electric, heating and water are included. NOTE: SAT NAV WILL NOT GET YOU TO THE CHALET see "other things to note" section for directions. South View Gardens is a Small Holding of 5 acres with small farm animals. Goats, sheep, pigs, dogs, cats and chickens. South View has lovely gardens which guests are welcome to enjoy. Please note Sat Nav may not get you to the Chalet directions are below in "other things to note" and directions are in specific location following booking. The Chalet is self contained. However guests are welcome to enjoy the surrounding gardens. David is a retired Environmental Health Officer , Alison is a retired Midwife. They both enjoy the 5 acre smallholding where they keep pigs, sheep, goats and poultry as well as growing their own vegetables. A regular visitors are Harry and Holly their grandchildren. David and Alison are around most of the time to assist guests. Located within Yorkshire's golden triangle, Kirk Hammerton is a quiet village located just off the A59 which provides easy access into York (10 miles) Harrogate (12 miles) Knaresborough (8 miles) and Leeds (26 miles). The village is also one of the few to benefit from an operating train station which operates services seven days a week to York and Leeds (via Harrogate). St John the Baptist Church, Kirk Hammerton is a Grade I listed Church of England church dating back to 950AD. Its Anglo-Saxon tower is complete, unchanged and a delight to behold. it has changed little since the Norman alterations in around 1150. The surrounding countryside boasts many interesting villages and several National Trust properties such as Beningborough Hall and Fountains Abbey. The historic city of York are within easy travelling distance by car or train. Kirk Hammerton has it's own Railway Station with easy access to York, Knaresborough, Harrogate and Leeds. Kirk Hammerton is on the A59 5mins drive from the A1. Directions to South View Gardens Parker Lane Kirk Hammerton York YO26 8BT. From the A1M take the A59 towards York travel for about 4 miles. you will come to a crossroads with Kirk Hammerton sign posted right turn. IGNORE this carry on straight up the hill. There is a left turn to Boroughbridge at the top of the hill, keep straight on but slow down as the next right turn is required. Turn right down Kirk Hammerton Lane. As you travel down the lane look left you will see South View Gardens in the middle of the field. Carry on down the lane and you will come to a level crossing. About 20 metres BEFORE the crossing on the left is the entrance to South View Gardens.
