Second floor living quarters with a gourmet kitchen, living room, study, master bedroom and bath with antique claw-foot bathtub and more. Original pine flooring and a combination of old and new; you will fall in love with this home. First floor has second bedroom, bath, laundry and more living space. Off-street parking and a private side entrance under a beautiful brick porch in the heart of Old Towne Petersburg. Located just 3.8 miles from Fort Lee and less than a mile from Virginia State University, also within easy walking distance of downtown Petersburg's locally owned dining, entertainment and other shopping options. House is a short drive to Southpark Mall and convenient to dining and entertainment. Centrally located with the mountains to the west and ocean beaches to the east and so much more in every direction, our house is an ideal place to stay. This house includes all furniture, housewares, linens and toiletries…everything but the groceries, although there might even be a few food items when you arrive. Due to the coronavirus, we’re taking extra care to disinfect frequently touched surfaces between reservations. The entire house is available for your use. Additional laundry, soaps, shampoos and cleaning supplies are located in the closet in the first floor bathroom across from the washer and dryer. The first floor laundry hamper is in the bedroom closet. An iron and ironing board are located on the second floor in a cabinet next to the writing desk. Your host lives five minutes away and is generally available to offer assistance as necessary to make your stay a memorable one as you explore the history of Petersburg and surrounding areas. Old Towne Petersburg offers numerous locally owned shopping, dining, and entertainment experiences. Antique lovers can peruse the many shops where you can find almost anything including many one-of-a-kind items. History buffs can visit the Petersburg Batllefield, Civil War Museum, Siege Museum and many more sites. Colonial Williamsburg is a short drive. Six Flags and Busch Gardens are available for a day's outing. Petersburg is minutes from the main gate at Fort Lee and only 25 miles south of our state capitol, Richmond, VA. Whether your plans are for a day, a week or longer, there is plenty to see and do, all knowing you have a beautiful place to come home to and relax. Historic Old Towne is small enough that you can walk from one end to another if you desire. You can also hop in your car and get around too. Petersburg Area Transit System offers bus and "trolley" service within the Petersburg area. Numerous pamphlets, brochures and flyers are on the second floor writing desk to help you learn about many of the area attractions.
